What happens when it is a war to protect ones country and it's people from control of another... Say Hitler succeeded and helped win the war for his side, Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs would be completely different.

God gave the Isrealites laws to follow, but these laws were only a mentor a foreshadow of what God had in mind for his people. He was to wash away their sins by belief only in Jesus Christ who was to come afterward.

They follow Jesus Christ and it might even be said that they follow him more closely than many other so called "christian religions". for example, christ started the door to door preaching work and commanded his followers to take part. How many religions other than Jehovah's witnesses do you see doing this? Just one small example.

How exactly is it to harass someone that comes provoking you? These chicks didn't expect an argument and a rebuttal. if the worst thing in the bible was the difference between kill and murder then the bible is the right book which is not, there are far more contradictions other than what you mentioned, kill and murder could be just a translation problem, which does not affect the orginal sriptures. but yeah they have many several versions of the bible where some of it have a whole text that others do not
Atheist need to approach these topics the theists approach proselytizing. Approach it slowly and put doubt in their minds. You will not turn people with this type of approach. You have to ease into FWM.

It's ridiculous to believe that a book was written by man but is really the divine word of an old man sitting on a cloud. that a man without birth records was conceived without sex, lived with no paper trail (so to speak), left no death record, or body, and this man really came from a kingdom in the sky.

@MineBaron what is the purpose of science, if not to find the ultimate origin of all things? you can't say that everything has just been here, because that's the line you dismiss about the origin of God. Something made everything. More than likely, it's not a guy with a beard, but if it was an alien, then that is your God. God means creator.
If random energy is your creator, then it is still your God.
No doubt science will find and explain God, eventually, but to acknowledge the Chaos Theory

I talked to someone from Jehovah witness for almost an hour and we discussed a multitude of things about his and my belief until i revealed that i worshiped the flying spaghetti monster XD by which time his face turned red then stormed off realizing that I made him stand in the hot sun while i was in my air-conditioned house XD
I find it highly amusing that so many people say this guy is ignorant, when throughout most of the video his got a greater understanding of the passages of that flawed book of theirs and many other religions/cults. He also demonstrates understanding and common sense in reference to certain words and their meaning, and certain passages, whereas these ladies did not.

I was raised a JW. My parents are still JW I myself am now agnostic I too see them as some type of cult. I just don't care for any kind of organized religion. I don't believe that the end us near or that Jesus died for our sins. He died for his own sins, not mine. You can say all you want all day about Jesus begin our saivior but I've yet to see him save anyone.

When you brought up the argument that the Flying Spaghetti Monster was no more ridiculous than God coming as Jesus to sacrifice himself to himself to appease himself they didn't jump on it. JWs are non-Trinitarians, they don't believe Jesus was God but his first creation, son and the only archangel Michael, as seen in Revelations. Usually they love jumping on that one, it's their primary lynch pin for dismissing all other sects of Christianity.

@youngji273 It's hard to weasel out of the fact there was a time where God made it law for homosexuals to be stoned to death (Leviticus 20:13) and basically anyone who failed to follow the law was likewise put to death. So essentially God's law was 'Kill gays or be yourself killed'. If it was morally acceptable in God's eye EVER then then there is no reason to believe it wouldn't be now or God's morality changes. If you are a JW then God will destroy all gays in the Lake of Fire.

According to Ezekiel 33:7-9 you could be made guilty for my blood if you didn't do enough to warn me with true intent, to give an account for why you believe (1 Peter 3:15) or refute arguments against 'The Truth' and persuade my thoughts (2 Corinthian 10:5). @AnimeBlahness Lulz, you do realise that less than 1 in 3 children raised as Jehovah's Witness actually self-identify as JWs in adulthood. It has the lowest retention rate of ANY religion in the United States. You're going to run into A LOT of ex-JWs debating JW beliefs with agnostics/atheists. And yes, I'm one of them. For the reason that the dogma is intellectually unsatisfying. There was no answer that didn't beg another question whose answer was itself: 'Says so in the Bible'.

@AnimeBlahness Yeah, the other hundreds of prophecies that came true during Jesus' days... Matthew 16:28, 24:34 and Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27 say that Jesus prophesied that the generation of the people he was talking to would not have 'passed away' or 'tasted death' before the events he described came to pass... at which point he outlines Armaggedon with dozens of things that have not yet happened. Even supposing he meant from the time of his Witnesses, over 100 years have passed.
the old testament doesn't concern us today, Jesus made a new covenant for todays a Christians, I'm not a Christian and even I know that!

I was raised a JW. My parents are still JW I myself am now agnostic I too see them as some type of cult. I just don't care for any kind of organized religion. I don't believe that the end us near or that Jesus died for our sins. He died for his own sins, not mine. When you brought up the argument that the Flying Spaghetti Monster was no more ridiculous than God coming as Jesus to sacrifice himself to himself to appease himself they didn't jump on it. JWs are non-Trinitarians, they don't believe Jesus was God but his first creation, son and the only archangel Michael, as seen in Revelations. @youngji273 It's hard to weasel out of the fact there was a time where God made it law for homosexuals to be stoned to death (Leviticus 20:13) and basically anyone who failed to follow the law was likewise put to death. So essentially God's law was 'Kill gays or be yourself killed'. If it was morally acceptable in God's eye EVER then then there is no reason to believe it wouldn't be now or God's morality changes. If you are a JW then God will destroy all gays in the Lake of Fire.

@Multi5th i dont belive in fate. but we can agree 2 disagree on the governing body.. i think that they are doing a great job overseeing the preaching work, they are spokesman for god, and they recieve nothing in return materially unlike christendom.

There's no way to demonstrate that the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave' is under the influence of God which can't also be used to show that the Pope is, nor any way of denomstrating that the Pope isn't under God's influence or speaking for God that couldn't likewise be used to disprove that the Governing Body are God's agents on earth. EVERY religious authority is self-granted. If one was annoited with a booming voice from the heavens EVERYONE would join up.

@AnimeBlahness If you are a witness you are an odd one. Shouldn't you be more concerned about my eternal disposition? I might end up destroyed in the Lake of Fire. According to Ezekiel 33:7-9 you could be made guilty for my blood if you didn't do enough to warn me with true intent, to give an account for why you believe (1 Peter 3:15) or refute arguments against 'The Truth' and persuade my thoughts (2 Corinthian 10:5). Easier to do the passive aggressive 'We'll see who's sorry!'.

@KentRigeI im not a jw.. but im studying.. and u made ur OWN mistake... so i dont feel sorry 4 yew becuz u sound like an apostate and prolly rebelled, so i cant change ur views, and obviously by our convo thats evident... only if u return back 2 god then he will return 2 yew.. an apostate is an enemy of god.. no apostate will enter into god's kingdom, so its up 2 u now. @AnimeBlahness Lulz, you do realise that less than 1 in 3 children raised as Jehovah's Witness actually self-identify as JWs in adulthood. It has the lowest retention rate of ANY religion in the United States. You're going to run into A LOT of ex-JWs debating JW beliefs with agnostics/atheists. And yes, I'm one of them. For the reason that the dogma is intellectually unsatisfying. There was no answer that didn't beg another question whose answer was itself: 'Says so in the Bible'.

@cooper79jeffr lol how r they threatning u hahha!, no one knows when armageddon is coming except the father... they r just warning u because thats a prohpecy thats going to come TRUE like the other hundred of prophecies that came tru in jesus' day and prophecies that r being fuluffilled 2day..they r doing like the scriptures say "preaching the kingdom message" and when this is complete then the end will come... and they want to help you get to know god and he's will b4 he's day of WRATH comes..

@AnimeBlahness Yeah, the other hundreds of prophecies that came true during Jesus' days... Matthew 16:28, 24:34 and Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27 say that Jesus prophesied that the generation of the people he was talking to would not have 'passed away' or 'tasted death' before the events he described came to pass... at which point he outlines Armaggedon with dozens of things that have not yet happened. Even supposing he meant from the time of his Witnesses, over 100 years have passed.
