Thanks for posting. We attended the Rennsport Reunion as spectators, but this gave us a great feeling of what it was like to actually race there. Was this actually one of the old Richie Ginther SCCA cars?
@helmuttdvm , Glad you liked the video. Yes, this is one of two cars built in 1972. The other car was for Robert Kirby. This is the 914-4 SP that Elliott Forbes Robinson raced in 1972 (He raced the Garretson car in 1973). Elliott even came by and signed the car on Friday. I was out hunting down parts and missed him. He had lots of great stories.
@chfrank60 Bet EFR was pleased to see his old mount driven so well! I was in the 58 Brumos car, which we finished just in time for RRIV. We had a couple of hiccups but still, what a treat. vintagerace is JS... 914/6GT #70. FWIW, first time at Laguna for me but we'll all need more time to catch up with you. Nice job.
BTW, Jurgen was driving my friend's BHR 911 and almost won starting from (I think) 3 spots BEHIND me. >yow<
@rustycuyler I really like your GT, such a cool car. I have always wanted a Brumos 914/6 GT. You did a fine job, your car really pulls well. Keys to Laguna are momentum and not over braking. People under estimate exit speed on turn 9. A 914 will out handle all the vintage 911's through that turn. You can push those down hill sections way more than you think. This was my first time at Laguna since 1991 in the 914, and the we ran 9" slicks. It is more fun now.
This is terrific, really love it! Rivals the 908 on board for thrills. We were at Rennsport and had a ball: great job you guys ;)

@vintagerace Apologies for the misidentification, thought you were in the grey 914/6 #70.

Great stuff, fun racing with you... a shame about your throttle issues, it was a real treat watching your passes!

@rustycuyler , Which car were you in? Yes the throttle thing was a bummer. Still lots of fun.

Not bad for a little 914-4 1.7L - great race lines.

Too bad the the throttle linkage bent - you were really moving up in the pack!
