You can give a homeless man your money, but it wont sustain him. It will only improve his life for a few days. The problem with charities is that they give people a fish. They usually don't take the time to give people a fishing pole. There are tons of charities, but recovery efforts need to be spread everywhere.
And that means the animals to, because the destruction of any animal species will be the famine of so many people everywhere. The loss of even one species will devistate the food chain and what lies on the top of the food chain.
We can worry about animals once you don't see another homeless person or soup kitchen full of people. Obviously the animals are not helping these people get off the streets, lowering the crime rate or poverty levels. Let's talk about the now, and last time I checked, I didn't see whale offered on any menus. Japan cannot wipe out whales on its own.

They volunteer for a worthy cause. UNLIKE the whale poachers who are "so honest" that they're pretending this is all for science.
The SSCS is there for several goals, the key one is PUBLICITY. To open eyes and raise awareness on what's happening in the Whale sanctuary.
Then and only then will laws be changed. People have been blind to all this and that's how the japanese wanted to keep it.
They've even fought the wide spread release of "The Cove" in Japan, violently against their own people

That's not a bad way to think of things, but there are so many people dedicated to saving humans from the rest of the world. Sadly, charity organizations don't seem to change much. You can give a homeless man your money, but it wont sustain him. It will only improve his life for a few days. The problem with charities is that they give people a fish. They usually don't take the time to give people a fishing pole. There are tons of charities, but recovery efforts need to be spread everywhere.

The fight to end homelessness and starvation is an ongoing fight and charities are battling an enemy that will never be gone.
