This was hotel built in 1973, originally as a Holiday Inn. It was built on the site of a 19th century British fort, part of which was incorporated into the swimming pool.

Just saw this on Discovery and it looked familiar. Checked my vacation photos and I stayed at that Club Med back in 1987! Sad to see it gone. :(

I was there in Late July and saw them preparing for the Demo, I herd the Discovery Channel was there recording the action.

hi. Just wanted to say as a person who lives in Bermuda it was so awesome to see the implosion. the first time in the islands history that a building has ever been imploded, and possibly the only time. It was such a site to see. Where you here for long? Where you able to see the implosion or only the building being prepared?

I stayed there New Year 1973-4, when it was under Holiday Inn management; the place was painted PINK, what a riot. It was a great place to stay at the time. It was packed to the rafters. Don't know what condition it was in that it needed to be demolished...

Guess the mortgage was paid.

I was there when it was abandoned in 06-07 and thought it was the coolest looking hotel I have ever saw. I don't understand how it went out of bussines.
