Or 'non-duality'. Semantics is a big problem in trying to 'dig' the 'Ultimate Ground of Being'. Virvana is being able to not-think, and just be. And it is both impossible and very easy.
We are in duality because we chose to be separate from the One, true Reality.Freedom of choice was the deal you struck and its being kept sacred for you.
Judgment arises in us here within the third dimension, because we see from our own point of view only (which is usually taught to us and past down)!.True 'freedom' to move on,comes from you choosing not to judge anything or anyone replacing thought with love and acceptance first.
No one chooses to be separate. Freedom or free will goes only as far as knowing what your choices are and we are not wired to know true reality. In the grand scheme of things, it may not matter if any individual knows true reality as if it's some end goal. People will keep searching. Things phase in and out. The world keeps turning. Life goes on.
Who can be certain of anything other than experiencing the gift of free will? That would be being stuck fast within a point of view. Free will would infer that many within 3D do choose to try and go it alone, separating themselves from God.
I feel this illusion of duality is simply allowed to exist for us to give it all a try on our own, evolve out , then ascend, maybe even descend further away from the light into 2nd Dimension by choice?
@Honeysucklebommie I used to see it this way .. but there are real imperatives in life .. if i meet others with love and acceptance it doesn't mean they will do the same. Being peaceful an compassionate doesnt necessarily make the world so . It generally means you dont fight back so you get walked over .. i have learned this the hard way :)
For sure we get our hands dirty down here no doubt. Sometimes you come up against a situation and you have to fight fire with fire Just to help someone out whos maybe getting a beating out on the street.
God help them if it comes to that,yu do what you have to do in the moment :-) Then move on without guilt over it.
@Honeysucklebommie This is where i go all psychotic on you ;) .. so i am getting over an illness .. go out into the desert in israel to meditate and pray for healing .. go back to my hotel where i am raped so violently it takes more than 10 years to get my wits back to any degree .. My choice was to seriously injure or be seriously injured.. half an hour after praying ! you can see why i took the pacifist route and why i think i now regret it!! i should have killed him and forgotten it?
Yes, the best example of that fading illusion is in the difficulty for the elite to commodify and completely rape the internet. They are puzzled and frustrated beyond reason with what's left of it's fluid and wild west nature. Don't be surprized if their isn't some attempt to subvert the system to their own advantage with an issue so complex that the public simply gives up trying to understand their elaborate language and underhandedness.
Your insight to the eating of meat is wonderful and I agree with one exception only. Not only is it how the meat is handled and harvested, as you so rightly suggest, but the quantity of red meat that is being consumed in ridiculous excess is unsustainable and grotesque. I like a good steak on very rare occasions, but is it necessary to eat half a cow a week as most people do?Consumption of these fats Omega 6's and 9's is just unhealthful and leads to disease if not eaten sparingly anyway.
I hope you don't mind the intrusion, but I'd like to take a stab at your question. I think the public is so dissolutioned and frustrated from chasing the American dream, whatever that is, that it has occupied them with bad habbits leaving them with no choice, but to become detatched from anything that would shift their focus from said delusion. They are busy chasing the perfect life and since many are never capable of acheiving this nonsense they become stoic and indifferent to the pain of others.
Alan seems to have everything sorted; I struggle with the concept of becoming enlightened, or the reason for existence, and feel that I am no closer to becoming enlightened from when I first started 4 years ago. I think what does give some insight into alternative realms of consciousness are psychedelics, at least for me anyway. The only problem with psychedelics is that, by their very nature, pose more questions about life and existence than we have the courage to ask.
I am one of those complacent (though I am not apathetic); or rather, I am self-complacent. The problems created by those other than myself are not of my concern. The atrocities that are currently being committed by those abusing their power are only part of a self-contained cycle which, at this point in time, will ultimately lead to an overall improvement in the human condition. These atrocities are necessarily a 'learning step' for the human race. There is no need to worry.
To know that the people doing these things are stuck. You forgive people for their complacency and apathy, but I have to say maybe you are complacent and apathetic about something else. If you eat meat for instance, I'm sure you can justify it to yourself, but that is no different when looked at individually.

this man will turn your little world upside down, if you can understand him.
Genius.
Where are these kinds of people today? Can anyone drop a name or two?
bodunchar 1 year ago
@bodunchar they all got killed off in the 90's, by "cancer"
Bill HIcks, Terence Mckenna, Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary, Douglas Adams lasted a bit longer...
Alan Moore is alive!
Ken Wilber is alive!
Alan Moore has taken ALL the above influences, and much much more. He is a genius.
Read Watchmen, and go over it again once read. and again, and again. Each time will be a revelation.

my opinion is that god as you call is simply the essence of being or interconnected consciousness and that god is you and me the same but different

Thanks, MIchelle ... I learned a lot from this, I am an old fan of Alan Watts, and I am a philosopher. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated!
