@clownfish1500 Yeah about that, Nitrous is outlawed in just about every sled pull. His turbo spooled up and started moving air efficiently so the smoke went away. Smoke is just unburnt fuel when it got the air it needed it went away.

Cummins for pullin, Duramax for Racing, Powerstroke for towing....and I own a 6.0. Its cheaper to make a Cummins pull truck.

Can anyone tell me why some powerstrokes sound almost like gas V8s, and some sound the way Duramaxes do (no offense, but like a compressor)? I've seen both 7.3s and 6.0s sound either way. Is it something about the way the exhaust is designed?

@tmoney511 I know they are all V8s - this is why I wonder why they sound so drastically different! They're all crossplane V8s with the same firing order, around the same volumes, and mostly the same configurations with turbos etc, so it doesn't make any sense.

@joffeloff it all depends on timing, injectors, and turbos. if you have twins its not as throaty because of the extra exhaust travel, less timing is more throaty than advanced, and bigger injectors the louder

the last year of the 6.0's had less shop time then the 7.3's. All you got to do is stud and egr delete with a cooler filter and you got yourself a damn nice motor that will last awhile with proper care. Plus diesels don't break. They can be rebuilt and run forever.

A lot... to be honest it ran kinda crappy at this pull. It was only my second hook on my current setup.

basics are 225mm injectors and a 66race turbo with all the suporting mods.
