he sang so much better on idol than he is now. I think he is vocally burned out...esp. after that tour and, now, promos for the CD. Young voices can only handle so much! Whenever he sings Crush, he sounds incredibly "pitchy." I love his singing - he was my pick to win - but I think he needs some serious vocal rest.

I loved this one on AI. It's no wonder the 3 judges were unanimous in choosing him at the finale. He started this whole thing as a young 16 year old and we have seen him grow as a performer over the past year. He's bound for superstardom and will use many of his gifts to make life better for others. I love this kid's heart, soul, and talent.

yeah, ages has a lot to do with it, but also overuse. He's not cracking - he rarely cracks as it is. He just sounds tired. His voice is so natural and technically quite solid (for 17), but, over time, when you use a muscle too much, you'll hit problems. I think a month of no singing would give him back the voice that almost on American Idol. ;)

David has a beautiful smoky pop voice, but also the musical sophistication of a good jazz singer. If he visited the studio 5-6x to record this song, believe me, it would come out differently each and every time. His virtuosity makes him like a musical gyroscope; he'll tilt this way in one session, another way in the next, but it always comes out exactly right.

When David is allowed free reign over his own artistic choices, he'll be in a class of his own. He's the genius of the group-no doubt.

Yes, an IDOL. Archie's a perfect idol, in my opinion. He's got talent, like you said. But he's also humble, drama-free (unlike a lot of 'role-models' right now), and most importantly, inspiring.
