I'll have you know I was LUCKY enough to meet Matt Hall as part of the AAFC this year in Perth. He is a terrific bloke and admits he did some things he regrets but I know it was his duty, not his choice. Without people like him, this country would have seen an invasion like no other. Oh I pity your innocence.
A lot of people think fans of motor racing of various types just watch to see someone get brutally injured or killed in an accident. The reaction of spectators when someone is able to prevent something like that from happening, in this video and others is strong evidence that suggests most of those fans are for more excited about an accident avoided than an accident occurred.
@danieldeibler Very strongly agree with this. Watching ANY kind of motorsport, there's nothing that gets me pumped up more than a great save. It takes an insane amount of skill to pull your machine, whatever it may be, back from the brink of a crash and when you are already in trouble, there is very little margin for error. And this video is certainly no exception.
Actually, this video is a little better perspective to see that he was indeed pulling a lot of G's get an accelerated stall just as he was beginning to roll out of the turn at the same time so ... the wing with the aileron down naturally stalled first resulting in a roll in the wrong direction. Fast thinking on his part saved his life.
There is at least one other video from across the river you should see also (and its a little less shaky) So when can we get a compilation of all the videos, different angles and some slo-mo? Really cool. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for sharing this. Told all my buddies about it, now I can show them. That was an amazing recovery. Could of turned disastrous very easily.Glad Matt Hall is ok. Can't wait for the race tomorrow.
