I am not an expert but i use the pole to soak guys out of their money so I am a professional. And yes I'm naked and no you don't get a bj. The Names have no meaning. so forget that. If you go to a pretzel/beer place, the girls are on drugs fall off the pole and give head. If you go to the Cheetah in Atlanta, the lobster is 80 dollars, the girls can really dance and don't fall off the pole One cannot pole dance on drugs or be anything but physically fit.
This video was made in 2006 when names of tricks were not used often. Now we see that this name is used for a very advanced inverted trick but there is still no set standard for names I would love to change the name of this trick but it was filmed in 2006
The problem with this move, regardless of what it is called, is that she is demonstrating how to tear your rotator cuff muscles. This trick should be done with support from your outside hand, distributing your weight better, giving you better stabilization, and protecting your shoulder. This woman should be banned from teaching.
this is not a butterfly its a front hook, i think this woman clearly has no idea about poledancing, she is wearing long shorts for 1 (wtf) and hasnt even got ANY of the moves right as far as i can tell from her vids
This is not the butterfly, as a pole instructor you really should know the names of such basic pole moves. This move is the basic front hook, the very first pole spin that most people learn - the butterfly is an advanced move which involves being inverted.
This is not a "butterfly." A butterfly is inverted, legs split (sometimes not touching the pole at all) with hands pushing out from the pole in a half-bracket.
She isnt showing people how to be a stripper she is showing people how to get fit by using this move, Its not about being sex or anything its about getting fit and having fun cause working out at a gym is boring and this way makes it better.
There are no set standards in pole dancing yet on names. Commenting that there is a name like plie in ballet just shows that someone is not well educated in pole dancing. Until guidelines are set names can be set by any dance school. I look forward to when there is an exact name so there is less confusion in the industry.
i agree with LBgoldfish ... your hips don't even line up where they should when demonstrating this move. Also, the one-handed version should be taught AFTER the two-handed one is mastered.
Exactly how is this instruction bad? I'm a pole dance instructor myself, & she demonstrated & broke down that move very well. If you feel her instruction warrants criticism, instead of just saying it's bad instruction, please explain what you didn't like about it AND how you feel you can do it better.
She broke it down fine. However...she clearly has zero technical dance training. As far as pole dancing she would be fine teaching blind old fat ladies...but she wasnt sexy. She was never an exotic dancer....so why would anyone want to learn something somewhat irrelevant to the actual style of pole dancing? Her pole technique is terrible....who walks around the pole with their arm up?? Are you kidding? I know strippers who can teach a trick and make it look good be then her
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
and honestly I dont have to explain how I would teach it better. because every aspect of what i would do and actually do in a class is better then this video. And any of the instructors I know or have met through here would do it better. I think if their are crappy products out there....it should be known because I would NEVER want a student of mine to stumble across this and think this is how they should look. Doing this will push your hubby to the titty bar waaaay faster...
Like all your other instructional vids, this on was direct, simple, easy to understand! But I'm thinking there needs to be a standard nomenclature of pole. For example, I've seen the butterfly used to refer to the invert with inside ankle against the pole, legs split and bent at the knee (Like a gemini biased off the side). I wonder if anyone out there is up to such a project? Maybe when I retire....LOL. We'll call it the Nomenclature of Pole, by Joel!

This has to be a joke because anyone who does any serious pole work, KNOWS, this is NOT the butterfly. It is a front hook swing. UNBELIEVEABLE.
