I had the safety (left side) fall off. I took it back to where I bought it and the gunsmith, put it back on and showed me how to put it on. He said all 1911 use the same safety the "press on" together. This next ime I put it back on myself. I called Taurus and they said I could return the pistol to them and they would repair it or I could "buy" replacement safety's. I choose to buy them cause it was cheaper that the frieght to send th pistol back. I am waiting for the new safety's to arrive.
i have a taurus and i really like it. never jams, nothing broke off. i think this is a better quality pistol, period. the things that i don't like is the grips and the sights.
I like the pistol, but now for the second time the ambi safety has fallen off. Once my gunsmith put it back on and another time I did. Makes me nervous carrying cocked and locked when the safety falls off. I need to contact Taurus and see if there is a fix for that.
I am going to get a Tauras 1911 expect I am going to do a maker over on it. I am going replace the firing pin and fring spring with a Wilson Combat firing pin and spring. Then I am going to change the grips but the grips on a Taruas are so ugly.
I have a PT 1911 and ive put over 1500 rounds down range out of it so far.Works very good with store bought ammo but since I reload ammo I get the occasional jam.Other than that it is very reliable accurate.Compared to a colt remake the PT 1911 has a lot of after market goodies such as the the sights, extended beaver tail, combat hammer, trigger, etc.Very good for home defense and shooting comps.
dont mess with this grandpa!

Noticed a lot of brass flyin up into your face there...but is the is it worth it? i want a springfield, but the price on these is smaller.....

The brass was bouncing off the screen and coming back at me. The screens are between shooting lanes.

What good is an AR15 or an AK going to do when you want a pistol?

Buy a 500$ Springfield Armory 1911, instead of an 1000$ Taurus or Kimber.
