This woman is a hypocrite! She's against the death penalty and bashes republicans! She supports the democrat party which is for the killing of unborn babies! This woman is sick!!! She's gonna burn in hell! She supports the man who killed Daniel Faulkner! Unreal!
Im no religious person what so ever. But I believe in human dignity. Sister Prejean is a hero and hopefully one day we can look back at Capital Punishment as we look back at slavery today. Killing is wrong, no matter who does it. Eye for an eye, makes the world blind.
In the beginning of the video, when she talked about Afganistan, it reminded me of when we started that invasion. I live near NYC, and lost someone I knew in the twin towers, so I was feeling relieved knowing that we were "striking back." But then my daughter saw on the news our planes flying over Afganistan, dropping these packages for children which contained leaflets and little toys. She commented, "So, we're dropping presents for the children, but then we're killing their parents?"
Lets let all the gang members and killers out of prison and live next store to this nut. Will she talk them to death before they come to murder her? She is a total disappointment to American Catholics and she represents what is wrong in this country. What a goof!
I know, you wouldn't want to think logically about the truth or use comment sense on an issue. That is because a liberal is someone so open minded that their brains have fallen out. Let's let all the gang members and killers out of prisons and live next to you! Not me!
capital punishement- simple answer- justified if the state does it- Romans 13, but it is not the job of the Church- Jesus's pro peace ideaology is what I live by, but i am a Christian, I have no problems with the state who is under law doing it- and neither does the Holy Spirit either.
of course I am- but the does that make it a wrong interpretation?? one's interpretation is either right or not, and does not depend on who makes it, slo long as the truth of Scripture is upheld, don't claim i'm using my interpretation with the presumption that it somehow makes such an interpretation wrong if you can't show how
That's the point. Who says your truth of scripture is the same as hers? Your post says "simple answer" assuming that you're right. How are you right and can you prove it?
it's easy to assume what you're assuming, I already provided an interpretation of Romans 13- which binds a Christian to a just politic- there are principles of course throughout Scripture putting God's law above man's, but so long as man's law is not interfering with one's Christianity, and is doing justice, then obedience to it is needed--- i do not need to provide an elaborate exegesis of the passage- for you're assuming my interpretation is invalid cause it's mine, why? stop throwing your
hands in the air in skepticism and invalidating my interpretation on the basis that its my interpretation, that's ridiculous, are you one of those "well that's your truth" people? if you don't like my original answer, fine, but don't challenge it without showing why it should be challenged, especially when you seem to be claiming that somehow mine isn't accepted because it's mine--- well if you don't accept it because it's mine, what's yours????
this lady questions captial punishment by proclaiming the Gospel to the poor???
1. false connection between the two-- the poor have nothign to do with a practice that is intended to give just punishment to a criminal
2. her gospel is wrong- the gospel is not about feeding the poor, but about giving dead men (spiritual death) life-- it's about freedom from sin, this lady is preaching a social gospel, which is really not the Gospel Jesus came to bring (not just poor- but poor in spirit)
Also, you are assuming that such governments believe in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. All don't, nor do I, so you trying to convince me with the Bible as your fact-check is moot.
dude, um hello? no i am not assuming that you believe the Bible is inerrant, you ahven't said anything that would require me to assume so, all i'm claimgin is what the Bible actually says in context in Romans 13- i'm not going beyonnd and making all sorts of assumptions on your beliefs, i'm just showing you i'm right about my interpretation, and that your challenges have been silly
You're showing me you're right about my interpretations so there fore I have been silly? Wow, HILARIOUS! You aren't intellectually ready to debate me, sir. I'm done, seriously this time. I like challenges...
read my words above- i didn't say i'm right about my interpretation THEREFORE, no no no, i said AND- not therefore- do you even know how to receive what i'm trying to communicate? You're right i'm not intellectually ready to debate you, you can't even read what I wrote right- i can't respect such an "intellect"- strip off your pride and get real
I'm sorry, I only answer thoughtful reflections. I see you're a fundamentalist Christian so I will no longer try to convince you of anything because such people NEVER change. Since you obviously have ALL truth, have fun. One point. You make the claim that God institutes governments, so governments determine punishment. Are you implying that every government with capital punishment is God ordained?
6. why are you so dumb?-- use the mind God gave you- read what I say and address that before you ask quesitons of my implications- the majority of what I have states so far has not been dealt with by you--- you're more worried about making sure you let me know how fundamentalist and close minded I am than about the actual content of what I say- smoke and mirrors doesn't get anywhere with me, label me whatg you want, but learn to atleast address what I say and intelligently deal with it

3. does it not mention the sword in Romans 13?? how else is one going to interpret this passage, i mean does it not mention these things?:
-God institutes governments
-such governemtns are meant to give just punishment to criminals
-such punishment includes the sword, which in the Bible, insinuates deah
-therefore, a society of law carries out that system of law, allowing life to the obedient and punishment (even by death) to the disobedient
these are the implications of that passage duh

1. I gave you reflections to think of- hence they're thoughtful
2. I'm not a fundamentalist Christian as is used by the normal nuance (negative baggage) of the term
3. I have changed over the years, proving you wrong
4. I do have all truth, I have Jesus, but I do not cognitively know all truth- yet the truth i have i will say it
5. No- READ MY WORDS-- they're in point 3. of how i have responded to you- those are what i'm implying, deal what what I say - learn to R-E-A-D
