  • I love this fly! I made a minor modification which seems to work well. I cut the plastazote in the form of a wrist watch rather than just a straight line. This gives it a round form much like real beetles, and I think it gives it a bit more balance. Just a thought from a novice fly-tyer.

Thanks for the great videos Mr Camiss, I enjoy watching them!

  • Mr Camiss-

You created an incredible resource that is both informative and interesting. I have tied every one of your flies (they all catch fish) and do so while watching on my computer. Thank you for your clear and concise tying instructions. Looking forward to one hundred more!

  • i think the hooks to big

  • even if it is the bigger the hook used in a video make easier for us to watch

  • Hi dave just to let you know i tied this fly and on my second cast caught an amazing 9lb rainbow that gave me the fight of my life thanks for the pattern keep up the good work

  • We use this in South Africa to very great success targeting our smallmouth yellowfish in gin clear lakes.

We have slight differences here and there, but all in all it is basically the same fly!

You now gave me a great idea for legs, we use hackle for legs but this looks like it will work much better!

  • You have probably the best fly tying videos ive ever seen.. I love them!

  • Nice video, as allways keep up the good work

  • dave you are the man
