Mr. President Obama is a hostage of the CIA. Research the NDAA, which he signed at 11:58 PM, on New Year's Eve, 2011. A criminal organization is now running the USA. Good people, are you ready?
I think I like this better than Arabesque I. I can't quite explain it - and I think I'm getting cynical in my old age - but Arabesque I somehow conjures up the image of chintzy porcelain dolls and uptight unf_cked women.
@alexandergreenb Hmm, I try to avoid analyzing pieces that I'm nostalgic about. It ruins them for me. And you are quite a bit more sexually oriented in your age than most, hell I'm 15 and I don't even think of that. All the implications I could make. heh.
this song makes me think of little sparrows flittering about in the early morning in the meadows, looking so light and cheery.... that's the kinda vibe i get from this piece.
This is really nice. I found this in a post on Tumblr, and I was taken by surprise at the quiet serendipity of all of Debussy´s pieces. I believe, though, that though the pieces have fallen out of popularity, at least they are available for those who still like it :) Reverie and Arabesque I and II made my day
Dedicated to the memory of my aunt, Jane (1923-2011), a fantastic pianist (UC-Berkeley). Her sensitive piano interpretations from the Great American Songbook, the French Impressionists, and modern classics imparted a deep musical appreciation to her entire family. Thank you, Jane. R.I.P. Your "Audrey" is next...
@dsmaster92 I hold Debussy equal to Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms etc. He is a great composer and so is Ravel. If you like piano music you might also like Maurice Emmanuel, a lesser known French composer.

Arabesque No. 1 vs. Arabesque No. 2? Seriously comparisons? It's both unique and sounds really good. I mean it has to be a tie.

both should have been ambient and emotional. or at least this should have been first so the audience was left with #1 in their head

@AcousticDude17 the last piece played gets stuck more in people's heads because it was the most recently played.

@jdbrown371 Oh undoubtedly so. He's right up there with the rest of the greats. Some of the most beautiful music that's ever been created.
