  • Rosalba Neri, Helga Line', and Sylva Koscina are favorites, but Sylvia Lopez (HERCULES UNCHAINED) always sends me into orbit!

  • I vote for Gianna Maria Canale!!

  • Very, very nice so many good memories. Thank you for your work on these Peplum movies. They bring back memories that are so sweet!

  • They all look cute :)

  • Rosalba Neri reminds me of Jennifer Tilly

  • Gloria Milands looks like a blond Catherene-Zeta Jones to me

  • Bella Cortez!

  • chelso alonso with bella cortez second.

  • TODAS son MAMACITASSS y que bien les caen esos vestidos exoticos antiguos

  • I just noticed how much Jessica Alba looks like Mylene Demongeot. And the guy standing next to her is a spitting image of Michael Caine.

  • I'm voting for Sylva:). She had the look of a Greek Goddess. Chelo Alonso and Bella Cortez come close, but don't surpass her beauty.

  • Sylvia Koscina was Croatian. NOT NOT NOT Italian

  • I really enjoyed your program of so many films I enjoyed growing up, Steve Reeves is the King, but you left out Virni Lisi in Duel of Titans with Steve Reeves and Gordon Scott.

  • I'm doing a part 2 for Queen of Peplum cinema and will add those that I didn't include because of youtube's 10 minute limitation.

  • @htrrz CHELO ALONSO

  • Sylva is the queen, beautiful, sweet and classy!

  • Rosalba Neri from list list at least...she had a presence & could really play the evil bitch. However, U did not include Scilla Gabel my personal favorite. She was in a few..she was also Loren's double early in her career. She was smokin hot.

  • For me, absolutely, unquestionably, beyond any doubt, hesitation or equivocation...Chelo Alonso. She was absolutely gorgeous, sexy, way too hot to handle!

  • SapphoPEPLUM is right about Bella Cortez ... we love her in all her movies, but the dance in "Giant of Metropolis" is the best

  • the list of movies is under info section

  • What a splendid and rare collection! Thanks for sharing.

  • Oh Boy, this is difficult, I'm going to overlook the major league beauties, being Sophia, Anita, and Gina, as they are more known outside of the peplum genre.

I go for Bella Cortez, Sylva Koscina and Chelo Alonso. Great vid btw. 5/5

  • And who's the hot brunette in red talking to the Kirk Douglas clone?

  • That's Rosalba Neri.

  • Wow, didn't recognize her - she must've been pretty young there.

Can you help me ID a peplum? It was a rebel vs. bad queen thing, set in Babylon or something like that, and the hero dies at the end and is put on a funeral pyre, then the queen gets shot with an arrow and they toss her on the fire too. Not a Hellenic setting - lots of guys in pointed helmets.

  • Well, it just so happens that I saw this film this past weekend. It's one of the most entertaining one I've seen in a while. It's called "Io Semiramide" or "Slave Queen of Babylon" starring Yvonne Furneaux, in one of her best roles, and John Ericson.

  • Book! You need to write a book! "Queens of Peplum -the Exotic Women of Heroic Cinema". There's your title. I'll pre - order a copy.

  • O.K., since your knowledge of these films appears - herculean - a Hercules (pretty sure...) movie that wasn't dubbed, with an American actress as his love interest who I recall as really beautiful in a wholesome kind of way... and a bit cheeky.

It was light - hearted stuff. Sound familiar?

  • Not really. The only Hercules movies which aren't dubbed are "Hercules and the Princess of Troy" and "The 3 Stooges Meet Hercules" and Hercules appeared in "Jason & the Argonauts" too in a supporting role. "Hercules in New York" was filmed in English but Arnold's voice was dubbed. The other English Peplum is Atlas but it's not a Hercules movie.

If you're talking about "Hercules in Hollywood" I haven't seen it .

  • It might not have been Hercules... it's been a while. But it was a Hellenic type setting. I remember a scene on a rocky coast - the hero was struggling to cope with the wit of this girl and she was funny and hot in an all-American cheerleader kind of way.

It was early sixties, of course. I think she was blonde.

  • very beautiful video ,thank yuo so many beautiful movie queens , i love anita , chelo ,mylene demongeot sylvia lopez she die so young

  • Thanks for your quick reply and thanks for posting this stuff - I fell in love with these gals watching late night tv as a teenager in the seventies.

    p.s. more Liana Orfei!

  • C'est très difficile de choisir entre toutes ces magnifiques actrices !!! (hard to choose between all these beautiful actresses !!).

But for me, the bests are Debra Paget, Helene Chanel, Rhonda Fleming, Jany Clair and Rosalba Neri.

    Great work !!

  • Who is the gorgeous redhead with the pearls?

  • Sylvia Lopez.

  • For me the third best are Podesta, Koscine and Liane Orfei (his dance in Nefertiti is the best ^^)

  • The latest addition to my favorites!

Who is the Queen? I've always said Tina Louise was the most beautiful thing on god's green earth, but for my money the Queen of Peplum should really be European. Sylva Koscina it is.

Thanks for an amazing piece of work.

  • Great clip! I remember seeing all these beautiful actresses for the first time in the 1960's when Peplum films would play local TV all the time.I love all these starlets so it's impossible for me to pick one,but my top five would be in no particular order: Sylva Koscina,Bella Cortez,Moira Orfei,Rosalba Neri and Gianna Maria Canale. Helga Line would be number 6! It's a shame many of these wonderfully entertaining films are available in dreadful quality DVD's or not all here in the United States.
