  • He looks like a migget.

  • That guy is Canadian on loan to the U.S. air force.

  • Kind of an off topic question please excuse me. Where can you get a fighter jet on the end of a stick like you had in the video?

  • That is pilot technical speak, let me translate it. "I am a bad ass, I am more bad ass than any other bad ass on the planet. I was going high subsonic and intentionally screwed up because I am so bad ass that I just don't care. The plane may have exceeded its limits, but me i'm a bad ass and wasn't even phased. Did I mention I am a bad ass. Oh the plane is fine, why, because I am such a bad ass. I did this before breakfast to. I am a badass."

  • @slarmas =D =D =D you're right! =D =D =D

  • @slarmas What are you talking about? Watch the first 15 seconds again. "Believe it or not, what you're seeing here is deliberate...."

  • Wonder what kind of Gs if is pulling

  • during that entire time i would be screaming oh shit if i didnt know that it was planed

  • What's the first step for becoming a pilot?

  • You can tell he Canadian, hes so friendly.

  • @drbackjack Also by his rank and wings, and of course his friendliness

  • god damn that looked sketchy

  • What I didn't hear was the method of recovering from the departure. Perhaps the pilot used the Towel Rack Recovery" method. Never the less I'd like to hear more. Great vid, I'll be watching.

  • he's also an engineer ! PINKYs UP !

  • he really is the type of person u want testing our fighters! - a proper old school nerd :)

  • Could you explain that one more time? I wasn't listening.

  • Over G!!! /wrist - Crew Chief

  • very interesting videos, thanks for the upload. Shame you don't have both channels of audio here, I think the video would have benefited from it.

  • 1:14am Tuesday (PST) - Time in California, United States of America

  • This is gold

  • The flight control computer should take over cause the pilot is too busy shiting his pants!!!!

I know I would at least!!!

  • Smart Major, seems to be very good at his job. God, imagine the G's pulling in that spin.

  • Canada's best teaching them how it's done. Atta Boy Deuce!

  • excellent vid. thanks for posting!

  • That model plane on the stick looks like a think he could whack people with

  • @blackhawk438 Lmao i bet he does, like gibbs from ncis always head slaps tony.

  • @blackhawk438 ROFLMAO!

  • Thank you for posting. I hope for more videos of test pilots on mission. Hearing the audio between ground support, the pilot and a chase plane is amazing. Grace under fire, especially when things get hairy.

  • very good!

  • Could the flight control system interface with the stores management computer and be programmed to automatically counteract the drag induced yaw with opposite rudder?

  • WOW, Im blown away with this! That is crazy! I want in!!! LOL!

  • coolest job ever.

  • Thease guys fly the F-22A now as well as the F-16C/D. The squadron is called the 416th FTS "Raptor Keepers"

  • Was that guy the one flying the plane in the video?

  • no, when he was talking he said "the pilots"

  • Awesome. That free fall was a lot scarier the second time viewing it with the commentary.

  • I am in awe of the people who do this for a living. Bravo!!!!

  • never saw a falcon done these manouvres.

very important and dangerous work this men have, great job.

  • What were the test perimeters again? 35,000ft, 0.95M, what kinda roll angle and AoA and for how long to maintain aft stick pressure?

  • very cool!

  • Beautiful...... my dream is to fly one of those babies. Watching these test stunts just gets me "aroused" even more. ;)

I had a pilot explain to me (in detail) how to do those stunts one time; but I was just undereducated enough to not retain any of it, as I hardly understood it at all. Hopefully I'll be testing aircraft like that someday....

  • Yeah, that's was a pretty serious stall there

  • Yoo, whadup... All you street punk teenagers out there pay attention...

This is what a educated and trained professional person sounds like. No whad I'm sayn?

  • bravo to the 416th!

  • AVWeb, you are my most fave channel on YouTube. I am going to train to be a Rotary Wing pilot in the Army, I would appreciate it if you guys dropped a few videos about us once in a while.

Also, being an avid F-16 and military aviation fan, I look forward to see similar videos, especially on the F-16.

    Thank you for your service.

  • Excellent stuff. Thank you AVweb.

  • Brilliant vid, what youtube is all about. Thanks for this.

  • I thought it was pretty good.

  • AVWEB, you made a nice video 5 stars!

  • Hi, RJ

Thanks for the critical eye. Two things:

    1) The Youtube version isn't out of phase when I watch it on my system and the original file is fine, too. That said, I'd like all my vids to play properly on the computers I'm not using that access the internet through service providers to which I don't subscribe. I'll see what I can do.

    2) You get what you pay for. So, expect your refund check in the mail and I'll expect mine from Youtube. ;-]

    Best,

    Glenn Pew

  • You may want to check the NTSB reports before you slam the DC-10 You will find that pilot error and improper maintenance and engine failure was behind all of the accidents the DC-10 suffered and did you know about the Air Force used them for Tankers. KC-10.

Most of the accidents were on FC's (foreign carriers) who were not required to do necessary repairs by the FAA.

  • Guess ya pissed off a bunch of folk huh. Well that's what happens when ya post on a video viewed by a bunch of bench wingers. Let me guess you said the Air Force exists so that there will be a place for Naval Aviation dropouts. I wonder how many of these sheep could stick a 1 time, bingo fuel, trap at 0vis, in a sea state of 7, fuck em...

  • you soiund like noting more than a bench air flier. honestly, both groups have great pilots...never mind that the air force has the highest shoot down rate...and yes if taught how to do itr a air force pilot could land on a carrier. besides, landing on a carrier has nothing to do with dog fighting skills and in that regard no other group practices more air superiority or has MORE COMBAT EXPERIENCE than the air force. sorry that is the truth, deal...

  • I wasn't talking to you, go back to your abs and leave the Man stuff to those best qualified.

  • TAX MONEY AT WORK

  • testify221

That is becoming an old worn out complaint!!!!

That's called working to save somebodys life!!

  • Very cool video! Thanks again for posting such interesting stuff.

  • Very insightful, thanks for giving us 'regular pilots' a chance to learn.

  • Neat info! Yet another fun video!
