I really like the idea, and I hope this criticism is constructive. The fades up and down from black means that half the video is black screen, and I found myself getting very anxious for a change well before the bit at 2:20. Also, you should use a higher bitrate for the audio - Kate's voice suffers from so much compression.
Thanks for the comments. I hear ya on the audio; it's better in my original. Blame YouTube. As to the format; I don't think all the photos are exactly right, but that numbing pattern is actually what i was goin for. Originally I had thought of black-and-white drawings fading to white. And i'm not satisfied with the live-camera bit at the end. I just ran out of weekend...
If you get a chance, look at "La Jetée", which is also composed of still images.
For the best audio quality, ignore YouTube's recommended technical specs. They suck. Instead, upload your video with much higher quality audio. Good quality down-sampled is better than same quality cross-converted.
