Healthy Budgies live for about 6 to 8 years. Some have been recorded to live for 20 years. There are many websites on care of budgies, google "Parakeet Care".

Aw bless his little boots! I don't know HOW you got him to talk so well.. I've had a few and my favorite budgie lived until hr was 11 - he just kept on going bless hime, my Grandad died so I took him and 3 other companion birds died, he outlived them all.. I think he would have lived a bit longer but I had to leave the country for a while so I think he got fed up, bless him :'( 7 years is a damn good age though, happy birds live longer though sometimes its just luck as to how healthy they are..

OMG, if this is authentic, your budgie needs to be studied! He's even got your accent down perfectly. Budgies aren't supposed to be this good at mimicking and vocalizing. Most large parrots don't have a vocabulary this extensive even. Amazing.
