  • i shoot myself if i lived in a town called TRUTH or CONSEQUENCE

  • @harshLesson Many people here do shoot themselves from time to time, LOL! Thanks for watching.

  • @desertjournalonline lol! np. thumbs up for good vide =)

  • The year this was taken, the band uniforms were about 8 years old

  • @PostPeace There must have been loads of sweat in the arm pits, huh?

  • i was the susaphone player on the right ha i look sooo good... nope ha omg!... wow this is amazing

  • Cool, thanks for watching!

  • i was the short crash cymbals dud lol

  • The couple on the motorcycle was NOT Duane and wife cause we were AT WORK, but you were right about him being a good cook!!!

  • Hi, I guess I was terribly mistaken. Duane always is working up a storm. Tell him hello for me. I now live in Albuquerque, but might return one of these days to T or C. Not only is he a great cook, he's also a great guitar player. I plan to visit your channel next, hope you're not mad at me. I have cataracts so my vision isn't the greatest these days.

  • No, we're not mad. We were laughing cause we thought we were almost on Utube-LOL

  • Does Duane still play guitbox? He taught me a few things in the latter 1980s - one was how to bridge my fingers across the frets, something I used to think was impossible. But I'm so arthritic these days, my playing is always out of whack - same rhythym problem... Anyway, I was thinking of doing a red enchilada video but I'd rather you guys do it for me! You know, the sour cream with the smiley face design! And shucks, a little of Duane's guitar playing would make it very sweet indeed!

  • Oh yeah, that's the silver bullet band.

  • Holy crap those look like the same uniforms from when I was in band!!

  • I love this parade and so do the kids!

  • i was the chubby guy playing the susaphone in the band :)

  • Cool, I'm glad I got the footage, I'll take a look later at the video to see who you are. I had lived in T or C 19 years until 2004 when I moved to Albuquerque. Glad to meet you!

  • cool nice footage!

  • Thanks.

  • Cool, our paths cross many times over. Peace, I wish you greatness, which you are!

  • my bad

  • no worries rock on

  • cool! th e plaza was hoppin in mesilla

  • I used to live around the corner from the Fountain House in a small cottage owned by the Estradas in 1985.

  • This isn't Mesilla - It's Truth or Consequences - Note the name of the video says T or C.

  • Do you know which paper?

  • How nice indeed!

  • Thanks. I bet the people of Truth or Consequences don't even know about this video, but I did send it to my former competition at The Herald and Sierra County Sentinel, where I had worked for 11 years or so before starting the Desert Journal in the same town with only 6,000 people. We all had our share of the market, but for some reason, they'd read mine at the rate of four readers per sold copy.

  • When I was in T or C, I ended up in the paper. I travel with my pet macaw, Atticus, and during some event they walked up and snapped a pic. I guess they don't see many of them there.

My luck, it had to be the absolute worst photo of me ever taken. but the bird looked good...lol

  • cool parade footage, last year I went to the football hall of fame parade and filmed some but I took those videos down, I am going to film again this year

  • Can't wait to see it - I never saw one before.

  • that was quiye some parade,no wonder thater are not many spectators looks like the whole town is in the parade.

  • That's my guess too. There used to be a lot more people and they would come from hundreds of miles around, but since Ralph Edwards (founding father) no longer comes for Fiesta the crowds have dwindled - even the parade seemed to be much shorter this year. There were lots of cowboys this year and that's good to see that the last of the cowboys in Sierra County are still present. It really is a cowboy culture invaded by the influences of meth introduced by retired truck drivers.

  • thanx heaps, will add this to my festivities group! xjoeyx

  • Thanks, Joey, for watching.

  • You've got that right. Just one of the reasons I moved to Albuquerque. Actually, the town was riddled with all kinds of news so I always kept busy. But for the average Joe, it would seem quite dead there, or at least like a sleepy hollow, until you learn about the David Ray Serial Sexual Torture Cases, etc.

  • I recall a scandal while I was there involving an officer who shot an unarmed man in the back who was walking away from an argument. The officer just received probation.

  • I believe it was a state park ranger at Elephant Butte Lake State Park who shot a visitor at the lake. I don't remember all of the details because I already left T or C by then. I don't remember the exact details. But I've had my share of police brutality cases to report almost everywhere I worked - T or C, Las Cruces, Albuquerque, San Francisco.

  • I visited T or C in the summer. It is one very strange town. Every single store closes about 5 pm, and the average age is 48. Totally dead in the evening. This may have been the only thing to happen in that town all year.

  • I responded but comment is below or above (?). Thanks for watching.
