All you Eastern Orthodox people should learn that your faith teaches Hypostatic Union, and recognize that the Oriental Orthodoxy, unlike Catholicism, doesn't believe this.
Oh read a Theological book please, or an historical treatment of the problem and stop being so ignorant. Making sweeping statements isn't going to help the issue. -Your brother Catholic
I'm not going to dispute anyone on a comment page on youtube. I would turn your attention to any of the joint Christological documents produced by the Catholic/Coptic Orthodox or Armenien Orthodox . All I said was leaving uncharitable comments like that is not going to solve anything.
I'm simply trying to shake a ground that people see common with anything calling itself Orthodox, but not Catholic (ie. name instead of the true belief). If you don't want to bother to state any arguments, then I guess I should stop responding to that which aren't arguments.
I believe they teach Miaphysitism - that Jesus' two natures: divine and human are united, while Hypostasis that Catholic and Eastern Orthodox hold teaches that the human and the divine nature are in Jesus Christ are separate - retaining their particular properties. So Jesus is fully human and fully God: Equal with us in everything but sin. Which means he endured all the temptations and trails of his humanity.
That's incorrect. Hypostatic union means exactly that the two natures are united in one hypostasis. No Eastern Orthodox would ever say that the natures are separate- that's Nestorianism. The OO use the word "physis" to mean the same thing as "hypostasis". They do not distinguish between hypostasis and ousia, which is what caused their confusion regarding Chalcedon.
My wording is bad - I didn't mean separate. They are united in the person of Jesus, but still two natures. Miaphysitists says they are united into one nature.
Yes, but they are using the word "nature" to mean the same thing as "hypostasis." They still maintain that the one nature maintains all the distinct traits of the two natures. The problem is, they use the term "nature" for two different categories of things. The Chalcedonian definition of one hypostasis in two natures is therefore more precise.
It's tough to say because a clear, unified theology is hard to find among the non-Chalcedonians. I believe some of them might teach monothelitism and monenergism, and therefore fall under the anathemas of the sixth ecumenical council. The phrase "one incarnate nature of God the Word," however, is from St. Cyril and, while imprecise, is orthodox. I'm not sure if the non-Chalcedonians are heretics, but they are schismatics.
We, OOs believe Christ has one nature. But we beleive Jesus is full devine and human with out sin at the same time. Human and devine nature exist in Jesus with out confusion, mixing. While EO say Jesus has two separate natures which can be separted we (OO) believe Jesus has one nature. The two natures become one. Actually when you go into details, it is almost the same. That is why the two churchs discuessed and agreed they have the same faith expect the terms they are using.
Please pray for persecuted Christians in the Middle East and North Africa, especially Egypt. We have not forgotten about you. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hi guys. I attend your mother church, the Coptic Church. Thanks to Ethiopia, they've helped us spread the word of Orthodoxy through Africa. I saw an Ethiopian priest and his family attend a Coptic mass and take communion, we're very close in fact we're brothers and sisters.
Much love to my Ethiopian and Orthodox brothers! :)
5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You[c] must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
Hey sammy u gotta stop judging peoples faith and beliefs. Isnt that what the father says?? so who are u to judge. I am an Orthodox and i believe that my religion is the one and only true way. But at the end of the day I believe that God is not going to judge us according to our sereatoch or the differences in our worshipping. At the end of the day it is if u believe in God and if u have followed his teachings of peace and love, humility and empathy to others in need.
And obviously worshipping HIM and HIM alone. The differences in our faiths have been brought about since the beginning of Christianity at Antioch, mesasat yale new, yemiasit yebeza new. We should concentrate on what are basic and important and havent changed and let God judge the rest. U as a pente or Jehovas witness, at the end of the day let GOD judge. follow ur teachings and forget about the minor differences on worshipping and concentrate on the big picture. HIM.
First of all I like to thank you for your comment. I am a Christian a follower of Christ. I just post qoutes from the bible so people know about our saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. May God Bless You
I am not saying it is a bad thing to let people know about the World's saviour im just saying sammy that there are a lot of people who have not heard the message in the world. This obviously is an Orthodox Video post and most of the people who want to watch it are christians. I wonder because there are lot of other videos posted on You tube where clearly "yemayamnut" yalubet.
It is a good job u are doing but there are lots of video posts where i think that ur message wil be really helpful and is even needed, because the main mission of Christianity is to bring the Word to those who don't believe.
Not all Ethiopian own this culture. On the contrary, due to religious problem, major population of Ethiopian prohibit that kinda gross thing. Culture is popular in South African.
Actually, you UK bastards have been smoking pipe and fucking since you are in middle school!
i have a problem with whit catholics and christians going around converting ethiopian original "Jews" 2 worship a white Jesus that lived in Israel. If he lived in Israel 2 thousand years ago and was a Jew, Jesus could not be white. It's the middle east not middle of Europe!
What are you trying to say. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ who is God. And the color of his skin when he was on earth it does not make any difference. The main thing is to accept Jesus as your personal saviour.
Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." John3:5-8 Bible
if it does not make a difference then why is he always portrayed as a white man when the bible says he had hair like wool NOT string? Why not make him look like the bible describes him 2 b? Last time i checked white people did Not have hair like wool.
If it does not matter then why is he NEVER portrayed any color but WHITE?? When there are NO facts in the bible 2 back up the image of him having pale skin!! Think abt it...
Do not rush to give a reply, please read what I said again. There are bigger matters than what he the color of his skin was, and you are still talking about the color of his skin. I am just saying it is better to think about what he did for us rather than why he is portrayed as a white man. It would save you a lot of time if you didn't even worry about it. God bless you.
Well, obviously God "worries" abt it bcuz He gives clear descriptions in the bible abt how his son looked like. If it not important then tell God He wasted His time giving descriptions in the Bible such as hair like lambs wool!
No indeed it does not matter. The ancients didn't have the concept of race as we do now. Yes, they described people as having white or dark skin, but it was, to them, only a matter of description, it included no racial connotation.
And who cares what Ethiopians or other represent the Saviour with dark or white skin? we can not believe that the ancient ethiopians represented Christ white because of certain racial predjudices, as today. Syaing so would be an anachronism.
Yeshua must be Caucasian that time, though I have "colour". Why? Arab and Berber are white! It's impossible that Middle east people are not white except Ethiopian origin.
Also, it's just God's incarnation 2000 ago. He chose house of Judah. Yeshua suppose to be spirit only.
Is the only thing you see is the skin color, if thats the case you are blind right from the start, Orthodox Ethiopians do not go around converting people just like the rest of orthodox people, You have to come Jesus yourself, these are evangelists who proslitize people and try to convert them, God bless my Orthodox brothers and sisters.

Atniw 3 years ago

May God Bless You
samyaddis 3 years ago
I am not saying it is a bad thing to let people know about the World's saviour im just saying sammy that there are a lot of people who have not heard the message in the world. This obviously is an Orthodox Video post and most of the people who want to watch it are christians. I wonder because there are lot of other videos posted on You tube where clearly "yemayamnut" yalubet.
Atniw 3 years ago
It is a good job u are doing but there are lots of video posts where i think that ur message wil be really helpful and is even needed, because the main mission of Christianity is to bring the Word to those who don't believe.

Yeshua fulfilled 300 Messianic Prophecies.
One of them is "Jews reject him"
And Muslim keep on attacking Jesus is a funny behavior 'coz Jesus is so-called to be their prophet who bring Christian writings.

Not all Ethiopian own this culture. On the contrary, due to religious problem, major population of Ethiopian prohibit that kinda gross thing. Culture is popular in South African.
Actually, you UK bastards have been smoking pipe and fucking since you are in middle school!
boyaalex 4 years ago
i have a problem with whit catholics and christians going around converting ethiopian original "Jews" 2 worship a white Jesus that lived in Israel. If he lived in Israel 2 thousand years ago and was a Jew, Jesus could not be white. It's the middle east not middle of Europe!
israelsprincess07 4 years ago
What are you trying to say. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ who is God. And the color of his skin when he was on earth it does not make any difference. The main thing is to accept Jesus as your personal saviour.
samyaddis 4 years ago
Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. if it does not make a difference then why is he always portrayed as a white man when the bible says he had hair like wool NOT string? Why not make him look like the bible describes him 2 b? Last time i checked white people did Not have hair like wool.
israelsprincess07 3 years ago
What matter the most is that he died for our sin and because of him our sins are forgiven.
Ask the Lord Jesus to come into your heart and be king of your life and you will see what he will do for you.
samyaddis 3 years ago 2
It really does not matter what the color of his skin is. Why do we care so much for the little details when he came here to save all our lives?
It does not matter what he is portrayed as, what matters is if we were the ones that are going to live for what he did for us.
asmengistu 3 years ago
If it does not matter then why is he NEVER portrayed any color but WHITE?? When there are NO facts in the bible 2 back up the image of him having pale skin!! Think abt it...
israelsprincess07 3 years ago
Do not rush to give a reply, please read what I said again. There are bigger matters than what he the color of his skin was, and you are still talking about the color of his skin. I am just saying it is better to think about what he did for us rather than why he is portrayed as a white man. It would save you a lot of time if you didn't even worry about it. God bless you.
asmengistu 3 years ago
Well, obviously God "worries" abt it bcuz He gives clear descriptions in the bible abt how his son looked like. If it not important then tell God He wasted His time giving descriptions in the Bible such as hair like lambs wool!
israelsprincess07 3 years ago
No indeed it does not matter. The ancients didn't have the concept of race as we do now. Yes, they described people as having white or dark skin, but it was, to them, only a matter of description, it included no racial connotation.
And who cares what Ethiopians or other represent the Saviour with dark or white skin? we can not believe that the ancient ethiopians represented Christ white because of certain racial predjudices, as today. Syaing so would be an anachronism.

Don't lie.
Yeshua must be Caucasian that time, though I have "colour". Why? Arab and Berber are white! It's impossible that Middle east people are not white except Ethiopian origin.
Also, it's just God's incarnation 2000 ago. He chose house of Judah. Yeshua suppose to be spirit only.
boyaalex 4 years ago
Is the only thing you see is the skin color, if thats the case you are blind right from the start, Orthodox Ethiopians do not go around converting people just like the rest of orthodox people, You have to come Jesus yourself, these are evangelists who proslitize people and try to convert them, God bless my Orthodox brothers and sisters.
