@chrisfullofsteel: And your reasoning is? Qualify your statement. Or do you not know what you're talking about? I'm all for open discussion....even if it means agreeing to disagree. What I don't have time for is 'know it alls' who can't put their point across with some level of intelligence.
A quality punch should SNAP out from the shoulder (with the waist turning) like a WHIP! Pure punchers are a rare thing nowadays. But it's not only due to lack of good mechanics and technique. I think it's also due to the training pure strength at the expense of training strength in a co-ordinated boxing related manner which allows the fighter to remain relaxed during delivery of his shots.
These training methods are 'all the rage' nowadays....but the majority of these exercises do nothing for developing a boxers power IMO. Murderous punchers like Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, George Foreman, Julian Jackson, Gerald McClellan, Thomas Hearns, Alexis Arguello etc never used to used to train in this way and could still take you out with one clean shot! Guys that train using the methods in the video end up pushing their punches because they've lost the ability to RELAX when they punch.
I love these new techniques good to learn, but apparently he does this 6 days a week and I think thats too much strength training, might be why he is a bit slower than other middleweights.
lmao at you - you really thought pavlik would ko hopkins. he could not even take a round off a 43 year old man. what a bum and he needs to ditch this whack training bhop had more energy and a better punch output than this bum
Until you can win a world title or even have the courage to step into a ring and appreciate what these fighters have to go through then you can criticise them. until then keep ur mouth shut unless u want to meet somewhere then i will show u what my stomach looks like as i will happily consume you
i go there all the time since 2008 and i never seen him

Great training for a powerful fighter but not for a fast fighter, speed kills in the ring but the wrong training can kill speed in the gym.
All the god stuff is just scary, does anyone find that?.

this is great training but he should not over do it, emphasis should be on pads, sparring and the heavy bag.

All credit to Hopkins for still being a top fighter at 43, but I just can't see him getting past Pavlik. It's going to be a great fight, though.
