question what is the orention of the coils can you show a dirgram on how they are wired up I know some motors have a north and south pole coil and some I seen are all wrapped in the same direction I want to build one and I would hate to set the coil and then the find I dont have any voltage because it cancels out if you know what I mean. I have been looking for that infor on youtube for a while any ides or any videos out there.
@mackavally I couldn't figure how to keep the resin out of the bolt. The way I did it I could put the screw in to stop it from filling in and I will be able to attach a eyelet to connect the wires to the stator. If you use the split bolt let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching and Good luck
When wrapping coils you obviously have more than one layer of copper wire, my question is when I get to the top of the 1st layer, do I run the wire straight down to the bottom so I am always wrapping the same direction or do I wind from the bottom up on the 1st layer and then from the top down on the second layer and so on...? Thank you for the help.
@NHMoldInspector Just wind the wire in layers from bottom to top, then top to bottom. Perfect layer coils are pretty, but unnecessary in this application.
Does the shape of the coils make a difference at all? I see most people building these triangular look ones. Do more wraps of wire make more amperage, less voltage?
@enticed2zeitgeist The shapes of the coils and magnets make a difference. The important aspect to remember is the only place making power is where the magnetic lines of force are crossing the windings in a perpendicular fashion. Generally, trapezoidal coils used with rectangular magnets is more efficient than round magnets used with round coils.
More wraps of wire generates more voltage, which creates more current through a given load.
@depravedpuma That's my problem. I have only made generators out of DC PM Motors but want to make my own Axial Flux Alternator because I have heard they produce better. I am working on a VAWT so I am not sure which way would be better Star or Delta. Either one I still do not know how the coil ends connect together. I hope I made sense.
I got those buttons from windgenkits too. It was easy becuase I got the resin and wire on the same order. Good folks and nice video

@Losenger Thanks!

Darn, I was hoping it was how to attach the coils together.

@YonuhAdisi How are you looking to attach them together?? In Star or Delta??
