@daddydrums1 - so do you think the HD1 is a viable investment or should I just save up an extra £300 and get the td4k? I don't want to splash out £400 on a kit I'll be bored with or outgrow within a year.
@Wilsaap - i was very happy with it and it got me back into drumming, but looking back... yeah i would have saved some $ if i had just gone straight to the next one up. so if u r sure you will keep playing and can afford it, i'd just go with the td4 now.
That was something else man!!!Could tell me where did you get the drumless version of the song???Is there a site where i can find more drumless versions of songs???
@MsPapoutsis Thank you :) believe it or not this is the regular version of the song (with the drums). i just have my drum volume up a little louder than the song volume, so as long as i stay in time and don't vary too much, you hear my drums instead of his.
@trishul100 the mesh heads are really, really nice - you get a very natural bounce and feel. they are smaller than acoustics and the rims are higher, so you have to be accurate. overall, i recommend highly for all the versatility and the natural feel.
@manubestdrummer98 if you mean my amplifier, you are not actually hearing it in this video. i did a direct line recording straight to my computer and sync'd the sound with the video aftewards.
@WhazzUPDoGGY i'll definitely give it some thought. i put up a how-to video for a triplet fill last week. in the meantime, try searching for something like "how to drum beat" - there's a ton of stuff already out there.
When he looks at the camera right before the song starts, he looks like napoleon dynamites dadlol nice cover i might get thos drums so this was helpfull
I really like the way you are, it's cool that you actually answer and interact with your fans in the comments :D And your a great drummer, we need more of people like you hehe!
@TehManUpstairs - wow, thanks a lot! YouTube has been a great vehicle for sharing and interacting - i would love to have had it when i was a kid, probably would have learned a lot faster.
This makes me want to put one in my bedroom! If I thought of a song in the middle of the night I could just get up and play it! Nice love your covers you should go check out some of mine also!! You really should go check out some of my favorites on my site! Thanks you have my subscription not just because you play good but because I love the idea of putting one in my Bedroom!!
hey hie ... you played awesome !! first tell me the drum kit name you are playing am planing to buy ths !!!!!
as i am a amature drumming just begin with a acoustic drum 3 months before !!! i wanna know how you played the very first roll when " i tried so hard" came for the first time .that roll combinations .... as i concluded 2 stokes on each of tom toms and side tom ..... but unable to understand that snare stores .... that sounds like trrrrr in the begining to roll !!!! you getting me ?
Thanks a lot Kunoichi. My boys and I like a lot of their songs. Forgive me if u weren't really asking but on songs where u need a little more speed and control on the bass, it can help if you lift up your heel and just use the front part of your foot (the ball and toes) to hit the pedal. Keep jammin'!
Thanks Dom. Yeah, I improvise all the time. On most of my YouTube posts i stick pretty close to the original track, but I often play a song with no practice at all, and just make sure to stay in time. I put up "Loving a Hurricane" by John Hiatt a few days ago after just one listen, but it was a simple, fun beat.
and again a superb video. i'd expected nothing less ofcourse :-D
there are a few drummers (starters and ofcorse drummers like you) i am following, and its really a joy to be hold that even on such a simple beat (especially for you ofcourse), a musican/drummer can have fun. i also noticed the right cymbal that usually is a ride cymbal now also became a crash. what's with 2 crashes ? is this for easy reach or better speed ?
Thanks MM, even the simple songs can jam. As for the crash question, it's just nice to have 2 sometimes - and the right cymbal has a 3 way trigger so i can still get the ride sound on the bell and bow of it - i only set the rim to crash on that kit.
@DaddyDrums1 : WOW, this kit sounds to good to be true. now i wonder why kits like the roland td-20 costs so much, as this one also have every pad designed like the v-drums. do you know the difference between the td20 and your's ?
I don't remember specifically. Both the TD12 and TD20 have a regular high-hat stand with upper and lower cymbals. And probably a more complex control module. But for the price difference this one has everything I will want for a long, long time.
@daddydrums1 - so do you think the HD1 is a viable investment or should I just save up an extra £300 and get the td4k? I don't want to splash out £400 on a kit I'll be bored with or outgrow within a year.

Nice vid, I remember you playing an HD1via a video camera - you got a TD9 via midi out now.
I want Roland drums and was thinking of HD1, how did it take until you outgrew the HD1? I might just save up a bit longer for a TD4K2.
Wilsaap 2 weeks ago
@Wilsaap i probably had the HD1 for about a year, maybe a little less. REALLY happy with the new kit and will stay with it for a long while :)

nice cover, but isn't the bass drum at the beginning a bit to much? It sounds like a flam or what.
I love your Kit and I taste the thought to get it. But the TD 9kx set, it seems to be better for me :)
Put the HiHat a bit higher, maybe it's more comfortable than looks like :) try it^^

Yeah, I've found that's the best way (at least for me) to keep the kick in perfect timing. Only drawback is that you use more energy.
