Interesting, for tests 1 and 2 an AKM with wooden buttstock was used....but for test 3 an AKS47 i.e. fold down buttstock and no muzzle compensator was used, this version being less accurate.
The AKM is still nowhere near as controllable as the M16, but it wouldn't have been as shit sorry as that performance.

@Returacan It's a copy of the AK though. An original Russian AK is nearly impossible to find, so they had to use a Type 56 instead. The Type 56's are not cheaply made though, they are actually well made in my experience with firing them.

The M16 is more like a rifle meaning that its more accurate. The AK47 is more like a MG, doesn't have that great of an accuracy but makes alot of damage.
accuracy: M16 wins, m16 is accurate over 400 meters, which is already out of ak47's range.
range: M16 wins, it has more than twice the range of the ak47.
stopping power: ak47 wins, however m16 makes a lot up for it with its fragmenting rounds. However a missed bullet means nothing.
versatility: m16 wins, can have a ton of accessories and later models have integral piccantiny(spelling?) rails. The ak47 can also have piccantiny rails, but not as much as the m16 due to its design.

Actually, when the m16's 5.56x45mm NATO round hits a human its bullet is so thin that upon impact the tail swings over the tip of the bullet causing it to make a tumble motion. its not meant to penetrate through you, its made to stay inside of you so while this bullet is inside of you it starts to tumble and rip everything out of its way. this is called yaw. but this only happens up to 300 meters ish.

Well as a marine that served in afghanistan, I'd say tha m16 is better. I use m16a4 as my service weapon and trust me,it is what you need. Its very accurate and has a lot longer range than the ak47.. But I admit though, if you dont clean it regularly it will jam. Yes the 5.56 does not have the punch of a 7.62, but it is lighter and travels faster. And when you get hit, the round actually tumbles inside you. Just do a proper research guys.

@Returacan It's a copy of the AK though. An original Russian AK is nearly impossible to find, so they had to use a Type 56 instead. The Type 56's are not cheaply made though, they are actually well made in my experience with firing them.

@TheWizardAlien situations can vary, and sniper rafles are usually used over 800 meters. M16 is a very versatile weapon that can do well except in room to room fighting and very long ranges. HVLC bullets are nothing to wuss about, even the Russians dropped the 7.62 in favor of a HVLC bullet.

Actually, when the m16's 5.56x45mm NATO round hits a human its bullet is so thin that upon impact the tail swings over the tip of the bullet causing it to make a tumble motion. its not meant to penetrate through you, its made to stay inside of you so while this bullet is inside of you it starts to tumble and rip everything out of its way. this is called yaw. but this only happens up to 300 meters ish.

AK 47 was better in 2 of 3 tests and im not sure about last one because two man , two different positions of rifle holding.

@SuperRshunter Narcos in Mexico prefer AK-47 because if its reliability and being "easy to use" for untrained civilians, Mexican armed forces use mostly old HK-G3s and M-16s,although narcos have plenty of ammo available for shooting they lose more men in combat, I think it is due to the better accuracy of HK-G3s and M-16s.

If you took an ak round to the chest you'd be through. This aint modern warfare. People all over the world get their lives taken by ak's every day. Their fast, reliable, and extremely deadly. Put the ak into the hands of a well trained army, not the taliban, or insurgents in iraq and see what the outcome is. The m16 kill count is probably 1/16 of the AK kill count.

Field stripped faster = AK Wins, Actually broke the entire half of the cinder block = AK Wins, If the shooter had hit the center It have gone through two sections of concrete at least, Then they have to give the guy the folding stock variant of the ak47, looks like the stock was actually off of an AMD65 - NO CHEEK WELD, also they don't put the slant brake on the fully auto test either... The slant brake was MADE to compensate in fully auto. No wonder why the AK couldn't hold a group for shit...

Well as a marine that served in afghanistan, I'd say tha m16 is better. I use m16a4 as my service weapon and trust me,it is what you need. Its very accurate and has a lot longer range than the ak47.. But I admit though, if you dont clean it regularly it will jam. Yes the 5.56 does not have the punch of a 7.62, but it is lighter and travels faster. And when you get hit, the round actually tumbles inside you. Just do a proper research guys.
