Why did you go the long route from Folkstone and not Shakespeare beach at Dover?

thanks Nigel. I guess you must be a canoeist. I am not claiming to have the fastest canoeing time. I will leave that up to you.

I am good friends with Ian and he did great job going under 3 hours. What Bob and I accomplished was the first ever crossing in 'fine' rowing boats. Just to put it in perspective James Cracknell fell in after a 100m in a coastal boat. Have you ever tried rowing in the side wash of a cross channel ferry...thats why we went from Folkstone.
