Blame for that but although I´m going to watch Matt Smith as the Doctor I´m sure that Christopher and David as two my doctors, Rose, Jack, Martha, Mickey, Donna or Jackie, they´ll always be my best characters in Doctor Who. I don´t care what was before Christopher Ecleston (it was not my tv show). It will never be the same and blame me because I´m not so interested in all Doctor who series.

Please keep the old guard out of the new doctor, what has been putting me off the last season or so, was the trying to be funny (All the double entendres with Captain Jack, Why-won't-you-die-Donna and Wilf *ughh*) and failing miserably... please don't try and make the series for ages 8 (Sarah Jane) to 50 (Donna&her mother) to 80 (Wilf again)... :P

That said, I'm really looking forward to the 11th doctor, good times, good times :)

OK, true, I watched it as a kid but it was dark (and frankly gave me nightmares).... I'm saying, you shouldn't change the format just to pander to the widest possible public opinion. Different story, same thing basically: I live in Switzerland and now they've put up a warning on swiss TV before the Simpsons runs, only for ages 14 and above..... are you joking?!?!? Most kids DON'T become violent Axekillers just because there's some Itchy&Scratchy on TV!!!!

Billie's getting a bit old to play Rose now - she may be the same age as Matt, but she's a mum now and doesn't have that youthfulness anymore - she looks older, more mature. Bring on Amy Pond!

sorrt folks the ropse thing isnt gonna happen in season 5..think about it why bring rose back when steve is trying to develope the amy pond charecter ..he is not looking to reference the past but to push the doctor and raise the bar for the series and that means moving foward at least for season 5.

yeah possibly ,,i read a spoiler site which gave rough drafts for season 5 and in one rough draft the doctor had an alian infiltrator on his ship that lead to a massive plot that the doctor contacted captian jack and martha jones to help him.

i loved the old doctor who but we all need to stop living in the past... i hope that matt will make it like a new show and they will not bring back old charectors but start new relasionships :) i wish matt good luck. (and i really hope he is good)

matt smith is going to be brilliant as the doctor he is a very good actor he can make himself to be older than he actualy is. there will be no more rose,mickey, jackie,captian jack,sarah jane, or martha jones in the fith season steven moffat is not going to have those characters in the series any more because he is getting rid of all vestiges of the russel t davies era.

For the love of God, let's leave Rose, no pun intended, in the past! You can't keep bringing the same companions back every year.

I will put money on the fact that Moffat will *not* bring back any RTD old companions back, except maybe Captain Jack (if Torchwood comes back), Sarajh Jane (again, if SJA continues) and UNIT. Moffat was never a fan of the Rose/Martha love stories and Thank God for that!

I agree, he probably will not bring anyone like rose or Martha back. I wouldn't mind seeing Wilf in one form or another meeting the new very young looking doctor and saluting him. I really do hope though that they bring Sarah Jane in somewhere in it to meet the 11th.

I would really like to see the return of some classic companions though like Ace or Susan.

Which it's been confirmed that she will be returning . Though am not exteremely excited about Matt Smith becoming the Doctor, I think Rose will sort of compensate for that. :)
