  • hmmm is this compatible with a belt so u can attach more pouches?

  • @0mgwtfbbq21

sort of, its longer than most newer stuff these days, but it could be worn with a belt if you were tall enough

  • @GearBuyersGuide hmmm im about 6ft, any idea if it will fit the belt?

  • @0mgwtfbbq21

it should, I'm just b it taller than you and I can wear a belt with mine

  • WIll a fiveseven bullet penetrate this(without plates)? I can hardly believe such a small bullet can penetrate a .44 magnum resistant vest

  • the 5.7x28mm probably could

    Think about it this way

Old fashioned metal plate armor (like ye old knights wore)

now hit the plate armor with a slower moving hammer..

then hit that plate with a faster moving ice pick..

Se how the fast pointy thing might loose less energy piercing the armor, but the larger area of the hammer looses a lot (or even all) of it's energy denting the armor ?

Of course the ice pick isn't going to do as much damage as the hammer would have if it got through

  • okay thanks

  • what about 5.56? Isn't that bullet roughly the same size? And the cartrige is bigger so I assume it's faster?

  • you'll need plates to stop a Level III or IV threat projectal,

  • 4.6 x 30mm and 5.7 x 28mm will go threw LEVEL III-A but can't go threw LEVEL III-B and HIGHER "LEVEL III and IV" pinnacle armor has there new X-2 that can stop the high velocity rounds.

  • ok thanks so there's always a competition between armour piercing rounds manufacturers and body armour manufacturers

  • the 5.7 and 4.6 round is made by diffierent manufactures so

    "HK made the 4.6 x 30"

    "FN made the 5.7 x 28mm"

These bullets are not "ARMOR PEIRICING"

any Armor peiricing bullet in the USA or perhaphs anywere is "ILLEGAL"

these bullets are rather HIGH VELOCITY ROUNDS with bottled necked projectal's

these Ballistic rounds were scirtly made too improve the piercing of objects such as bodyarmor it wasn't made to defeat armor either

So of coruse a higher rating of NIJ can stop d bullet

  • Id have to say more Yes to that question than No if you don't mind me trying to answer that for you.The 5.7 round is moving faster than the .44 bullet even tho it's not nearly as big. This particular vest can stop a 9mm submachine gun round at about 1500 feet per second.Any more than that and it has less that a%50 chance of stopping penetration although it is CAPABLE of doing so.dunno the specs on the 5.7X28 FN cartridge but a.44 mag even with a IIIa vest on is really gonna hurt...

  • @foreverthreepwood

Unless you add the plates, then it can stop up to 7.62x51:)

  • @generaldeejee IIRC the interceptor isn't listed as .44 magnum resistant. Without plates then yes it could go through. Without plates it is level 2 body armor but with the plates a 5.7 would not go through.

  • hey good review, got a question for you, what size is that vest... and roughly your body size wt/height... im only asking because im going to be buying some online and id like to have an idea of what size i should get

  • I know that vest is a medium, but I don't know his height / weight, etc

  • how much would this vest go for with out the sappi plate?

  • They are getting cheaper and cheaper as the soft armor in them expires and the demand for them goes down

Last I saw one for was $700 for the vest & soft armor

But that could have been a year ago

  • Are you looking for one?

  • yes

  • I've seen them at surplus stores and gun shows
