I think that these guys are good, but are they good enough that 70 years later people are gonna be sitting around still listening to them and still consider them better than the music of that time????
Survey time, boys and girls. Who is the biggest loser of all time....1) the executive at Decca Records who turned down the Beatles for a contract after their audition...or....2) Uh, Pete Best. (my vote is for the Decca guy...Pete simply was not a very good drummer...no crime there....I suck worse than him on drums. And he can tell his grandchildren that he was a Beatle. I can tell my grandchildren that I once owned a Beatles wig.)
-3 good song boys :) I can't believe people actually used to hear their music like this! I feel so lucky being able to lie around with my iPad and listen to my hearts content. Btw, like if Anthology brought you here :)
This is technically as studio recording, as lo-fi as it is. Try looking for "Get Back/Let It Be" era bootlegs. They played a lot of really old stuff at those sessions.
It'a hard to believe that they could write this song and not get a recording contract for it. If this song had been cleaned-up a bit, and professionally recorded, it would have been a potential #1 hit. Even in it's raw state, I can't get this song out of my head after listening to it. Amazing.
@dstnyisurs A its not falsetto, falsetto is the opening of the vocal cords so you get a very breathy sound, what your reffering to is head voice. B he didnt sing this in head voice because it wouldn't have been that high a note for him so he would have belted it in chest voice.
@MrMightymitch1 It's a shame I agree, although I think this early on they weren't as flexible as they come to be and John was still very much the frontman of the band- George had only just joined anyway (and is doing the backing) and Paul probably didn't have the confidence yet to lead things.
Good one! I wish they had rerecorded this at some point...maybe they did, during the "Get Back" sessions? Anyone know where I can get Beatlegs from that era?
@ImagineRevolution64 Paul and George never wrote together. But in (Something) Its just them two singing. But yes I really do wish that they would of wrote together !
dont appriciate being spoken too like a child, i got the joke in the first place im not retarded @quique420 no you don't. @TheMasterOfLols i'm not 'that' stupid actually sure i made valid points at people who SERIOUSLY say 'mainstream' @zombieoverlord1 I got the joke in the first place, sure its become ridiculous to make a point or say an opinion without being corrected in a smart- ass fashion on the internet.
i watched nowhere boy recently and thought wow this is amazing and im really shocked at how right they got the film they even have the same hair and facial features and everything im amazing i actually love this song!
saying you liked them because they weren't mainstream makes you sound like a total dick, its just music, if you like it, fucking listen to it; it wasn't made to be liked by a few people then completely ignored soon as another set of people like it too, just shut up and fucking listen to it!
Awwww at 1:17 did anyone else notice that John was going to say Heartache but obvioulsy cause it's Pauls song he started saying Danger so John ends up saying "Haaanger" bless em
@azbv3 The Quarrymen was a group before the BEatles with john, george, and paul, stuart sutcliffe was there too, if Im not mistaken Pete BEst too, after that they went to Amsterdam, came backa nd joined Ringo ;)
Just think if John Lennon had never started The Quarrymen, The Beatles may not have ever been formed! Thank god Paul and John met. RIP John and George!
@winteroynxnight and @TheMarianitotv John is singing lead, Paul is harmonizing with John, and George does the ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh, thing. You should see the Nowhere Boy scene for this song, it's really good... :)
@livy36916 yes i saw that movie, absolutely loved it! :) the in spite of all the danger scene was my favorite, and all John and Paul scenes :P when they first met i was like and and that's where it all began....
It was a 78 lacquer record. How could it have ever survived. Think of it you know.
