  • I remember back when I was 10 ( I'm now 14) I was stretching in the splits... and I here a " OH MY G- !!" Everyone paused too look at the male gymnast instructor kneeling over some random boy. There was blood. He had made him stretch too far ( You know the instructor slowly pushes you down while your in the splits...) The kid probably won't ever have kids again. That same day my brother quit gymnastics saying it was too "risky".

  • no affence but , this video isnt veryy good , the people doing the streches are bounceing when they are stretiching and you shouldd never do that cause what happens is : - stretch bounce bounce bounce and SNAP goes the musle . It's a good video though (:

  • I never did gymnastic, but my dance teacher showed me these streches (not the video but the streches :P) so I'm flexible as a gymnast :)

    Doing the splits doesn't hurt your nuts, unless you have yours attached to each leg.

  • @kekeeilum weight doesnt matter too much because gymnasts have muscles and muscles way more than fat, but obviously u wanna be quite light to be able to hold your body weight better :)

  • @KalexCullen Bridge is one of the sure ways to hurt your lower back (sometimes seriously), if your are trying to do it as if you are 5 years young...

  • @MikhailBortsov I am 14, but some 5 years old can do it when they're gymnasts. It mostly hurts because I have never done it that way, just with curved legs :S

    a front walk over u got to land one leg and then the other and when the last leg lands u have to pull ur top half of ur body up try doing a bridge and doing this also having a strong leg and upper body will help hope this helps

  • i can do all the spilts middle right and left. i can also spred my legs apart and lay down flat like they did... cheerleading deffinantly pays off in the long run and ive been doing gymanstics since kindergarden but stopped when i became a cheerleader.

  • I strech every night before bed and i do yoga also.I am able to put the tips of my toes in my ear and touch my head with my feet.I can also put both my fgeet behind my head at the same time and do the splits.

    practice gymnastic moves to stretch and you should be able to do your moves soon enough

  • im 17 right now i was flexible back when i was 14 but i quitted dancing i used to do mainly popping and locking and headstands but now i cant do it anyone could recommend a stretching guide thingy or like how often should i stretch...? :P

    you should do it i would say everyday once or twice a day and not more cause u might hurt yourself and do the stretches they showed u on here and also butterfly stretches wit headstands u need strength training for your arms and some work for abs and balance. cardio would help with your stamina also so that u can dance for long period of time without being winded

  • i started stretching last year and i can do heel stretches, scorpions, bow and arrows, and have alll my splits. it just takes time.

  • I train in Muay Thai, Boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Flexibility is much needed. I have a habit of stretching my arms a lot for some reason so they are fine, but when it comes to legs I lost so much throughout the years.

    How often should I stretch? Daily? Any days rest?

  • Daily is best, but of course if you feel any pain don't force your body.

  • There's more than enough time. I used to not even be able to touch my toes. Then in track and field I picked up hurdling when I was 15 and in less than a year i gained so much flexibility. Just keep at it.

    i usually do it for fifteen to twenty minutes while watching tv or something

    i have a very affective routine
