Will you try something for me? Pull the stick back farther in your hand and use your pinky to wrap around it, to put the fulcrum back a bit? Your last 2 fingers (pinky & ring) would be the two "power fingers", the middle finger more of a pivot point and the index/thumb a guide.
See if that feels ok. I started doing that about 20 years ago and it makes things more relaxed and you don't tense up in the thumb/index area so much.
Just try it, see if it feels OK and record some? Thanx
