question-if you air bend at other people, shouldn't their hair and clothes respond like they would usually-flapping away? wouldn't you need like a big fan all the tie then, or could you 'lift' their clothes and hair with after effects too?

I just would add a little displacement map by duplicating the layer "particular" once all's done. Then decrease the number of particuls / sec and the longevity to about 1.5 sec (or half if you have more than 3 sec on the basic layer "particular"). then apply the displacement map to the layer befor every effects and play with the settings to have a nice result ^^.

@MediaArtist89 well that depends on the effect. trapcode effects like the one i use in this video you have to buy. After effects comes preloaded with a lot of effects. I would do a google search for some third party after effects plugins and that should put you on the right track!

to get better quality, get a better screen capturing program. I'm guessing you used camstudio? If so, it's good for only about a minute of recording , then it throws the audio way off.

Also, it has screwy colors. If you notice in my first couple of tutorials, I have the same color issues as in your video. I started using the camtasia trial and for some reason I got lucky and it never expired :)

Been doing better ever since (besides the fact I got a much better comp than I used to).

Not saying you couldn't do it in just after effects, but (again) to make it look good you would probably need a fluidsim.

Here's how you would do it:

1. (ONLY IN CERTAIN CASES) Matchmove shot.

2. Make a fluidsim in Blender that has forces acting on it so that it moves up how you want it to.

3. Export a normal pass

4. Use Normality in After Effects for refractions on your footage and you're done!

Sorry, I got all the way through the recording once and realized I had completely screwed something up. Then, I recorded it again and realized I'd forgotten to press the record button (that or I stopped it).

I promise to do it either tomorrow or thursday, but while I was going I noticed some flaws in how I was doing it (ways to make it look better, ways to make it render faster, etc.)
