LOL. Ah, but you're forgetting the payoff to the sketch - "Oh right, that *is* very clever!" Not only does one not like to make a fuss, one (the British) will always come up with an ingenious spit-and-polish solution at the very last minute! eg. the Spitfire.
Not clever enough: If we'd had Velcro in 1942it would have shortened the war by a couple of years. And maybe Super-glue in place of all those rivetts on the Spitfire? PostIt notes would have helped the Top Brass picture where all the troops were. But e-mail would have really clogged everything up. 'Magine Dad's Army with mobile phones! I say chaps: let the Long Range Desert Group march on Pot Noodle.

That battle saved our skins. Stalin was a frantically ghastly man, (you are right) but you gotta credit the Red Army with probably the single biggest part in defeating the Nazis.
I think e-mail would have created the sort of e-blizzard I see in work. Mostly work has become e-mail. It is crazy. Both sides would have been too busy keeping up with their e-mail to do any shooting...
