  • Great review. I love this fragrance and think you nailed it on every aspect.

  • fragrance net had no chanel fragrances for men or women i had to go to macys to get my bleu chanel high end retail prices i tell you smh

  • Hi Robe,

I like Le Male, mainly due to its female-attraction factor.

I personally love something which really feels very expensive mainly.

Can you please, suggest me the best of that kind of cologne for me!

    Thanks in advance!

    AKM

  • Last night i was in my favourite fragrance shop and i did not recognize the scent, seriously. It has been completely reformulated.

  • i just bought this tonight with my christmas money...... im 13

  • Which you recommend this over La Male?

  • reminds me a bit smelling a spiced rum and cola on ice :)

  • Average......synthetic smelling.

  • My favorite Fragrance!!!! Then comes GIT :)

  • In my opinion the original Chanel Allure Homme is the best of the Allure line.

I'm just not a fan at all of Allure Homme Sport like a lot of people seem to be.

  • what aftershave would you suggest that is very musky and woody as my current favourite aftershave is chanel anteaus any ideas anyone :]

  • what song was at the beggining?

  • @SuperMarvinramos Gimme Gimme Gimme - Global Deejays.... I think

  • How long does this one last?

  • I just blind ordered this for about 120 bucks. It's probably the most I've spent on a fragrance (I am a collector too). I hope it smells as good as it costs.

  • @TRMDYLE666 I got super lucky and got a bottle for $30!!! I can't believe it! anyway this is a great frag and i would have paid retail for it which is like $75 but why did you pay $125 for it? are you from a country where they don't carry it?

  • interesting scent I get like a Cinnamon/Brown Sugar Vibe to this I love it!

  • Hi everyone, I love the smell of soapy clean and spacious, but I can not find a kind of sugar out of the bathroom as clean as soap perfumes, I'd rather not be fresh and natural scent of perfume as if it's not like I want to be Is there a brand you know. I've seen on the internet but it is clean, brand Yane turkey perfume does not smell clean, like it helps me to do, would choose

Note: You must be a sweet soapy clean fresh fragrance for men should not be

  • which is better this or D&G pour homme if you could pick one marc and everyone else and why? thank you.

  • i do 2 sprays on chanel platinum the sprayer is very nice

  • Another legendary fragrance ! Longevity is really good on this one... I never had problems with it... it lasts 12 hours on my skin... which is enough for me (I only need 8 hours), after that you can still feel it... but is is very subtle. I really like the base notes on this one... I just can't wait till they kick in that's how great they are ! If the whole scent was like the base notes are it would have been much better... Anyway the top notes are nice too... really fresh so I don't mind them

  • Oooooooh. Guy picker upper.. Must buy NOW. :)))

  • How much money have you spent on your cologne collection?

  • @StopIllegalAliens01 he probly has 5 thousand in scents

  • Many people on Basenotes compare this to Boss Bottled and say this is a more refined version of it. What are your thoughts about this in terms of smell, projection, longevity, and likability? On smell, I don't think that are that similar.

Speaking of Boss Bottled, you think it has similarities with YSL L'Homme? I seem to have too many similar smelling scents, especially on the drydown!

  • I found this one to smell a lot like raisins.

  • I've never put much thought into fragrances (usually just wear what people gift me)

but just stumbled upon your reviews and am really enjoying them. Also appreciate the fact that you use a single take, unlike the typical/amateurish videos where someone speaks for a minute with 50 jumpy edit points in between.

  • Yo Marc which eBay sellers do you trust? Also what online stores do you trust?

  • I think that Le Nuits D´Hadrien by Annick Goultal smells like Dior Homme Sport, but a little more sweet... and you? Too much sicilian lemon in both.

And Marc... tell me... do you know why Juyce Couture Dirty English has been discontinued? Sad....

  • great review as usual

but which is better ALLURE or CARTIER DECLARATION?

  • great review as usual

but which is better ALLURE or CARTIER DECLARATION?

    ;)

  • hey marc, great review! i was wondering if you have smelled guerlain vetiver and what your thoughts of it are if you have? keep it up man, the reviews are stellar!

  • hey marc, another really good review! something i wouldnt mind seeing would be your top 5 date / seductive fragrances, any chances of that happening?! looking forward to more reviews!

  • Hi Mark , well maybe you do not have time for this but anyone can help me, I'm looking for a "special ocassion" fragrance, I blind bought angel man and i don't really like it, I love Le male but is way too popular so I'm lookig for something dazzling and stunning...I think this allure could be it, but i've got the sport version so...i don't know...however great review, you did it again man..i mean ...well haha you're great..

  • another masterpiece Guru.:-)

  • Marc, should I go w/bleu de chanel, allure homme, or allure homme sport, as a buy for just an everyday scent?

  • this cologne makes me jizz

  • Hey Marc,

have you tried the Laura Biagiotti ROMA ? Can you make a review please?

Cause I want to buy it but I'm not sure yet !!

    Thanks !!

  • 3rd comment-- I know lol. I do like this fragrance the most (as with many fragrances) when it has been on the skin for several hours. It has such an amazing woody floral scent that is more pleasing and not quite as harsh and "peppery(?)" when it has time to dry down. It definitely is on the same level (at least) as other classy scents like Versace The Dreamer. In a way, commenting on fragrances only gets one so far... it's good that most malls have a lot of popular scents available to test :)

  • In my opinion between a scent like Allure Homme and something like Versace Dreamer I would say The Dreamer is probably more suitable (sometimes) to somewhat younger people, but still is classy. That's my opinion of course, but Allure does come off as a more "mature" fragrance. The Dreamer is also a fairly warm scent, but it's sweeter and I think fits many under 30 or maybe even 25 better.

I'm not an expert, but am just comparing two fragrances I own. Good reviews as always Marc! Fun times!

  • I just sprayed this and a*men on my arms at a mall. I do NOT like a*men but think Allure Homme is VERY good. It definitely is a *warm* scent perfect for winter. It definitely is a more "classy" scent and probably most appropriate for formal wear.

I definitely would say you could wear this every day, but it's probably not what I would call an active or exercise scent.

It's probably recognizable even if you aren't into scents as many places like Macy's will smell like this sometimes. Good stuff!

  • would you prefer this over A*men? or is A*men better? also how about the sport ? is that better?

  • Are you planning to try "La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum"?........Came out in 2010. The bottle is completely black and it starts off with black pepper

  • @x3r9g6 i'm looking out to get a bottle

  • thanks for your take on this, my man. this frag will always be in my top 10 of all time. sexy stuff right here

  • Thanks Marc!

  • @robes08 Thanks for the quick reply on my VIW question! I live in Canada also, and I decided to go with Millesime Imperial by Creed. According to other reviews it is far more versatile, and can be worn inside during the winter. I also bought a VIW sample so I can try it out.

  • Marc great reviews all the times

i think i might become a collector just from watching your videos

  • how does La Nuit De L'homme compare to Allure aka The Measuring Stick?

  • @x3r9g6 la nuit gets a a thumbs up from me :)

  • @robes08 Wow! So La Nuit or Allure? I already have the original L'Homme. Is La Nuit different enough to buy or should I get the allure?

  • @robes08 i dont think its better then sport one...what do you think? in fact the allure sport is the best of the best i think.

  • germany callingggggggg !!!!

  • .And after this review, he played some Lil Wayne. :)

  • Great review. Thanks! Number 8 on my top ten of 2010. Great juice!

  • I think I should just go and buy it =)

  • This was one of the first colognes I tried about a year ago and it blew my mind. I'd like to try it again now that I've been around a little more. Great review

  • Great video Marc as Always. As a woman, I must say that i love Allure Homme on a man. You can never go wrong with this fragrance. A true timeless classic.

  • @StrawberryBlonde10 What else do you like as a lady ?

  • @lacostede wow there are so many other colognes i like for men. but i would say that without question my favorite fragrance house is Chanel. All their colognes smell so good to me :). You never go wrong with them imo.

  • @StrawberryBlonde10 Oh ok. I thank you for letting me know your favorite. I will keep that in mind. :)

  • Great review again Marc! You're turning out to be a huge success on youtube... and putting me in debt by purchasing all these bottles. :(

  • Great review !!! I have always wanted to know what you thought of Allure Homme. I saw the other day the movie Le Parfum (histoire d'un meurtrier), there is even a part in Grasse | I can't wait for The good, the bad and the ugly from the Chanel House. Am I the only one to notice the powdery smell like Le mâle that stays for hours on this one?

  • Always immaculately thorough Marc thanx!

  • Hey Marc, great review. Have you ever got your nose around Boss cologne by Hugo Boss (the original I think)? Reason I'm asking is because my grandfather used to wear it and don't hear much about it nowadays.

  • I've been waiting for you to do this review for a while, and it was worth the wait Marc! Thanks! I like your comparison to a swiss army knife! This is my signature scent, I love it.

  • Great review marc

  • Do you know Les Nuits d'Hadrien, by Annick Goutal?

  • @whereshitrise90 yes I do it's on my to buy list

  • Hey Marc, great review as always. I know you aren't reviewing Creed's Virgin Island Water any time soon, but did you have any major issues with projection?

    Thanks!

  • @c0conuts15 it's not a projection monster by any means and you can't really fix that :(

  • Hello Marc and great review as always! Do you think that if you would've reviewed this fragrance a year ago you would've given it the same mark? How about if now you were supposed to review a designer fragrance that last year or two years ago you've rate it a 9 or a 10 something like The Dreamer, Prada Amber Pour Home, Boss Bottled or Dolce Gabbana Pour Homme would you still give it the same mark?

  • @Arclite2002 the ratings I gave to those fragrances might change a year later, but a fragrance that got a 9 overall won't change much it might be a 10 now or a 8 but nothing huge. A quality fragrance is always going to be quality

  • This smells a bit like Pure Malt.. sorry, now I'm just being an ass.. lol..

  • smells a bit like Boss Bottled to me.

  • which one would you prefer as of now? bleu or allure? D:

  • @method526 allure but it's not fair because I haven't even worn bleu out yet

  • @robes08 ah. well perhaps you could include this question and your answer in your bleu review? i cant wait! i've learned a lot from you with these videos! :D

  • @method526 allure for sure , all the way man . Blue doesn t hold a candle to this fragrance haha!

  • this or Platinum Egoiste ?

  • @MrQ8center this only by a hair

  • @MrQ8center I own them both and there is no comparison in my view, they are too different but I think platinum is more unique and more masculine.

  • My boss (woman) loves this fragrance, its her number 2 greatest scent ever, just behind farenheit. So since she said this to me one day, I'm trying to put my hands in this bottle (hey, I wanna a promotion! rofl!!!)

  • I am really going to buy this fragrance...I'm in dating it for about 3 months now ahahahaha...

  • I've been thinking about getting this one again but there are some others in my collection that already do what I want from this. I would say its a more of a family event kinda fragrance. I wouldn't use this to pick up women, but if you already have a lady she will like this.

  • brill review, i'm going to have a smell of this tomorrow.

  • Great review as usual, Marc! But going through your "Allure Homme" line reviews, I'm surprised to find that you have not tackled Allure Homme Sport yet! I went scent shopping today, and between Bleu de Chanel, Allure Homme Sport and Allure Homme Édition Blanche, I had to choose Homme Sport by a long shot! Again, great review Marc keep 'em coming!

  • @CombatAssassin Sport is coming soon, give it a week or two

  • @CombatAssassin Sport is coming soon, give it a week or two

  • Ive been wait for this for 9 months... GREAT REVIEW!

  • What's the beginning music please?

  • Chanel Allure Homme is possibly my favorite cologne

  • I was in quite a slump and the first time I wore this I got lucky. She told me how good I smelled a least 4 times.....Needless to say I'm a huge fan! Seriously, Allure is an awesome, classy scent. I definite must have.

  • I think allure bleu is the worst or the ugly of the chanel house, to me it smells like a cheap $20 fragrance that you would get from puma or addidas.

  • Thanks for the review, this was my very first fragrance ever when it just came out. How do you think it compares to the rest of the allure line up? My favourite is allure homme sport followed by this one then Edition blanche which is the most complemented fragrance in my arsenal by women.

  • @evans4you they are all on par with themselves as far as quality goes and you could ask 10 people and they would all have different responses on which one is best. I don't even think I can pick one that's better then the other

  • @robes08 Do you get abit of a angel men pure malt vibe in this fragrance? I think anyone likle one of the two will definately like the other one too which compliments allure homme in a major way because it's ten years older.

  • Excellent review, I need to stop watching your reviews because I feel like quitting lol. I was really torn up between allure sport or allure. I ended up going with the allure sport because its more versatile, but I am still not sure if that was the right choice. I guess they both are good ones. I thought i slightly preferred sport, but now im not so sure.

  • @Guinea54 I don't get how some like you feel sport is more versatile??? I swear if it is, it ain't by fuckin much.. jus sayin.. I actually agonized over this one for about a minute, especially since some of the top guys around here were aaaall about some sport over the original..

In fact, I remember Brandon saying how sports dry down is reminiscent of Musc ravageur dry down and I was like WHOOAAA!!! WTF KINDA VODOO MAGIC is that bottle playin on his skin?!! Lucky Bastard! It doesn't on me!

  • @freakin13guy You know sometimes a part of me finds doing fragrance reviews to be a silly thing because it is such an individual type of thing. Some people get totally different reactions to the same fragrance. I can agree with someone 100 percent , or shake my head like wtf is this person smelling. I hear you though. I guess sport being versatile in the sense that it has more citrus, and allure homme to me anyway, has more of a sweet woody kind of scent.

  • @Guinea54 Agreed and the beginning or majority of your statement is the reason why I probably won't ever consider doing a review. I prefer to put in my 2 cents via comments and leave the over analyzing (which I luv) to the guys who are a lot more hard core and CLEARLY have more time and MONEY than I do.

I personally wouldn't 2nd guess what u went with. Despite your doubts over the 2 I think u just chose the one that smells best to YOU. If I was a true collector I would own both, but im not..

  • @freakin13guy Unfortunately I don't have the money either lol and I am not a collector. that is why i was being OCD over the two of them, They are too similar to me to spend money on both. I kind of wish I got the allure homme to be honest with you. Sport is more generic. Either way, I guess reviews are good because sometimes you might share a similar taste or perception with a reviewer and could go by their suggestions. Especially with all the research robes does, you get a balanced view

  • @freakin13guy AHS has a vanilla/tonka-ish musky dry down, which is a lil bit similar to MR's.

  • @NewHaarlem That's cool n i'm not trying to start a debate.. hell, I think the og allure has that creamy vibe on the dry down too.. trust me, I really really reeeeally wanted to have the same experience Brandon had with sport on my skin but when I did 2 full wearings of sport, yeah, I did get the similar creamy vibe I get from reg allure but it sure as hell wasnt anything close to MR'S.... and again for those who have, you lucky bastards!!! I would probably own 5 bottles of sport i got that.

  • @freakin13guy Hahaha! Sport like Musc Ravageur in the drydown?? Not on me either!

  • Nice review, Marc. Allure Homme is definitely a classic.

P.S. There was also a limited edition 6.7 oz / 200 ML bottle of it that came out late last year.

  • THANK YOU!!! Everything I could ever think of or say to describe this fragrance you've zapped out of my brain and spewed it out into this review.. Luv it!!

To me, that creamy dry down is really as good as it gets man. Quality stuff for sure! (Shit! I'm starting to sound like Dan.. lol..)

  • Most fragrances I test in store, I'll just sample it & then maybe come back and buy it. I bought this off of 1 spray.

  • Great Review! :) What do you think is the best for a 16 year old, Allure homme, allure homme sport or chanel platinum egoiste? Trying to find a good signature scent

  • @lol123rofl123 best way is to test them out, but for age group i believe the one that will fit you is allure homme sport

  • good review thanks

  • I really enjoyed Allure Homme. At first I was not impressed at all, but it grew on me. However, it had this odd sweet "note" that I couldn't take. This same note was the reason I gave up Platinum Egoiste and was even more prominent in Allure Sport, which is by far my least favorite out of the bunch. Thankfully, Edition Blanche was void of this weird Chanel signature and I love it.

  • I'm so getting this!

  • awesome.....haven't had a chance to smell this yet.

  • Great Review!!! This is the bomb!

  • Awesome review, as always! This is the bottle I reach for when I just don't know what to wear for the day......."swiss army knife"....couldn't have described it better!

  • or do opium edp .. thnx

  • mark do boucheron pour homme edp please ??

  • as always great video with lots of detail

This is one of the few fragrances i own and i think it is truly outstanding i dont know anyone who doesnt like it :)

  • Got this for Christmas! A classic!

  • Allure is a great fragrance for sure!

  • @Atmosphereification Thank you for not posting "1st!" like an idiot :)
