i frst heard this song like 5 years ago. Blown away by the soulfulness of a hardrock band. doesnt even sound like ozzy, some sort of alter ego....maybe hes sober haha
The lyrics are so incredibly honest and truthful. I feel that it is those words that make this song meaningful. Its like listening to early King Crimson songs (Court of the Crimson King; Red - the song Starless; Islands era). Its the meaning behind the melodies that make the song so touching. I forgot how awesome this song was. Ozzy (and Black Sabbath as a band) did an amazing recording!
i hope this new sabbath album will have some song elements like this or planet caravan. i was listening to The Devil You Know again recently followed instantly by Technical Ecstasy which made me realize how samey the feel of the songs are in TDYK... or rather how diverse the writing was on the classic albums Sabbath's awesome when the song structure is constantly changing in rhythms and timbre. i really hope they sort out this stuff with bill and that tony will pull through okay
MyName it means nothing my fortune is less My future is shrouded in dark wilderness Sunshine is far away, clouds linger on Everything I posessed - Now they are gone OhWhere can I go to and what can I do? Nothing can please me only thoughts are of you You just laughed when I begged you to stay I've not stopped crying since you went away The world is a lonely place - you're on your own Guess I will go home sit down and moan. Crying and thinking is all that I do Memories I have remind me of you
..."Solitude", is much longer in comparison and features Ozzy Osbourne's soft, woeful vocals. It is largely believed by many fans that Bill Ward sang on "Solitude", as the song's vocals greatly differ from Osbourne's "signature" vocals; however, this is a myth. Ward did not perform vocals for any Black Sabbath song until the band's seventh album, Technical Ecstasy, on the track "It's Alright"...
@BakiNBG not so much actually, i could totally see wandering the forests and swamps around SOLITUDE one of the games largest cities with this song playing in the background
I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it says this aint Bill Singing, but I still think it is... this is NOT Ozzy's voice. There is no fucking way in hell lol.
this isn't a heavy metal/rock track by no means but it just shows what brilliant songs are created by heavy metal/rock bands, but the majority of so called music lovers will never hear, but do we care !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song reminds me of myself. I do not know if this relates to the song, but I am a very lonely person because I do not have many friends, but that is the least of my problems. I am too nervous to confront my friends. I barely speak to them and I am afraid I will live and die alone for the rest of my life. And the cause of all this is my goddamn Aspergers. :'(
I don't know what u feel Secret Face but your face is not a secret...not for you. I have got someone with Asperger's in my life and believe me...you are so lucky! You probably don't need anyone...he doesn't... not me at least...

@12SecretFace Don't worry man, I have it too, and a lot of people are the same way. I spend every moment of every day completely alone in an apartment. I go to class, no one sits by me, no one talks to me. Then I go home and sit here alone. My friends back home don't want to hang out with me as much as before because of how I act when I'm finally around people now. Just saying, I understand.
@12SecretFace with so many things to do how can anyone feel lonley in the socail technological era. play xbox live or League of legends. Ive met some really realy interesting people online who open up to me like im there best frined cause theres no awkwardness of ever getting too close. anything is possible in todays world
@trickykid3000 Loneliness it's not about not being with somebody, but unable to feel related to others, those people you met don't give a fuck if you die, or if you marry... just people you know... people needs for somebody to love, to share fears, to go and feel supported by others, somebody who cares about them.
@Qain89 true but thats what i mean about the online thing. people seem way more willing to open up without much prodding. ive met some people online that have it way worse then me and it makes me feel way better. in league of legends they can come from india, iran, etc... and they have life way worse then us here in north america. It is really uplifting...for the cares about part, im a guy and i dont really need that stuff, in fact im kind of tired of it.
all these idiots think tony is in big trouble,WAKE UP IDIOTS lymphoma IS THE MOST CUREABLE CANCER IN THE WORLD, AND HE IS FREAKIN LOADED. thumbs up if everyone should stop posting comments about this and just enjoy the music
@soadacan1234556 Cancer is cancer no one gives a shit how easy it is to cure. And when a legend like Tony Iommi gets cancer there is a reason to worry. Ya cant see into the future man. So its that much more tragic.
@Dustin543432321 And so we fill our hearts and mind with love hoping that in some small way it helps.........thanx Tony proudly and artfully done....period. May you find bliss....
After years of waiting, not only I find out that the Sabath are having a reunion, but also I find out that they are having gig in Belgrade, only few hours of train ride from where I live. Me and my dudes were out of our minds only to find out that Mr.Iommi was diagnosed with cancer... fuck this world!!!
Best wishes to grandfather, father and godfather of metal, and with some luck many more gigs including the one in Belgrade. I don't wanna regret for not seeing Sabbath live.
at 18 i left my home town of warwick , ri on a grayhound bus for the great LA. halfway out of town, this song came on my walkman 1983. Hearing Ozzy's words made tears come to my eyes as i knew i would never come back. the words were prophetic. "all the things i possess now they are gone..." I had a HS diploma and 2 days of clothes. i left behind my family and have been back 3 times-85, 86 and 10 for my mother's funeral. I'm dealing with that. But, still Ozzy rings in my head. great song! T
@IvoTheSlayer and if you can see in my opinion black sabbath totally changes in every album, personally black sabbath, paranoid and heaven and hell are some of the bests of they all carreer
@IvoTheSlayer My personal favs are Vol.4,Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage but thats the beauty of music.Theres something different in every song that grabs and or connects to all of us in a certain way.\m/
This whole album is truly Sabbaths best as I remember the first time i got stoned with my cousin. He played this album,I could have sworn to hear the grass grow for my very first high,When Ozzy departed I was really taken abak. The Blizzard of Oz is great,But it was never the same.At least we got at least 9 of the original Sabbath albums.Truly the epic of solid fukin rock with no fag tunes in between. The originators of Heavy Metal,Priest and Maiden are their as well.Sabbath anyday number 1 agreed
@IvoTheSlayer Absolutely Dio should have stayed with Rainbow as Ozzy should have remained with the originals. No doubt these tunes are etched in the minds of those who will never be swayed bye some of the serious death metal to which i have no fukin time for at all.And yes it's ozzy singin. One more album that burns my brain is Sabotage with the oz wearing red nylons looking as if he has a master plan.Funny how we love those hard knock rock yet this tune humbles us hmmmmmm
@PETESEYESBLUE Couldn't agree more with your statement on death metal...limited musicianship with Cookie Monster on vocals is what I call it..disagree with you on Ozzy staying with the Originals. I was 13 in '78, Sabbath was my #1 band , but thier last two albums were disappointing,,thier management was fucking them out of millions, un-ending dope binges, gettin' smoked by thier opening band every night. Something had to give.Ozzy discovers Randy, nuff said. BTW, thats Bill wearin red nylons.
@chrissick65 your right i have the vinyl and should have looked first it is comical how cool it was back then kid u knot my hair was just as long as the oz but times change but the memories remain with us u yhink
@PETESEYESBLUE Son, get your facts straight,The first 6 Sabbath albums were as good as it gets. Technical Ecstacy & Never Say Die were weak. Where are you gettin 9 original Sabbath albums? After Sabatage it was never the same..but fag tunes? Don't even go there! I love Iron Maiden..saw them open for Priest with Paul DiAnno on vocals. Sabbath & Priest originated Metal, Maiden were over a decade later, great but not originators.
@chrissick65 Son not much older than u im a 64 baby and my life with Sabbath,Priest are undying as for tech ecst never say die there are only three songs on both albums i like I agree with u on the metal facts MastersOf Reality is the best album i first heard in 74.With Maiden there inception in 80 was the new metal, i agree whole hearted on the originators of solid rock and even had arguements with Mettalica heads They are way to commercial and prefer the three over Mettalica
With all the great guitar players out there if I could only listen to one for the rest of my life it would probably be Tony Iommi. Thanks for posting.
Attention Sabbath fans! I regret to inform, as some of you may already know, that our beloved Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma! Spread the message and savor his pure genius and raw talent while you can. It was diagnosed early on and hes doing fine, but who knows.
just heard the news that the IRON MAN himself Tommy Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of cancer... lets all sent our best wishes to the legend, and hope for a speedy recovery.
Ozzy walked out of the studio when the horn section came in during the recording of Never Say Die and never came back. That's when Bill sang. This is OZZY.
@expatbritingermany As an Ozzy fan, I´d say it is. Iommy was asked about this in an interview and he confirmed it. There´s only two songs from the Ozzy era that weren´t sung by Osbourne. 'It´s Alright' and 'Swinging The Chain'.
@FEVERPITCHROCKNROLL - I know, I've read all that, but the voice just doesn't sound anything like it does on all the other songs. Ozzy has a unique kind of voice that I thought I would always recognize. No good asking Ozzy, anyway - he probably wouldn't remember :-))

@PETESEYESBLUE And Rainbow!! :3
IvoTheSlayer 1 month ago

This is OZZY.
juggalomaggot123 2 months ago
As an Ozzy fan, I would say this is NOT him singing!
expatbritingermany 2 months ago
@expatbritingermany As an Ozzy fan, I´d say it is. Iommy was asked about this in an interview and he confirmed it. There´s only two songs from the Ozzy era that weren´t sung by Osbourne. 'It´s Alright' and 'Swinging The Chain'.
FEVERPITCHROCKNROLL 2 months ago
@FEVERPITCHROCKNROLL - I know, I've read all that, but the voice just doesn't sound anything like it does on all the other songs. Ozzy has a unique kind of voice that I thought I would always recognize. No good asking Ozzy, anyway - he probably wouldn't remember :-))
expatbritingermany 2 months ago 3
@expatbritingermany They probably put a filter over his voice. But it is Ozzy.
