I can't say what brand of RIMS they are using, but they all use a freecoaster rear hub. Most of them have only a front U-brake, many of them don't have brakes at all.

God, you don't need a f'ckin Flatland bike to ride flat. In theory, all you need is a BMX frame with good tires, good wheels, brakes(optional), and pegs. That's it. Just go and ride, no excuse not to ride unless you don't have a bike.

ok dude, the other meaning of flatland is PRACTICE. its pretty much the definition. dont expect to be pulling of the sick links in a few months. this is a dedicated sport. I suggest if you're having major probs, register on global-flat dot com, talk to the dudes there, or get urself a copy of Ground Rules. check it out on youtube. bound to be a vid there.

that's cool man! i was thinking about starting up again after stopping in '92. I really miss it, and the progression of the sport since that time is simply astounding. Back in the day, hopping on one wheel was a big deal....and then they invented the cherry-picker and the decade!! so now if you can do both of those at the same time with no brakes and blindfolded you have a good starting point for the next generation of flatland. yikes....
