  • Might I ask why you used the 50's for this? I'm curious, I have the CV50's. Just wondering, did you use it because it's clearer or did you just use it cus it was lying around?

  • @pacrat90 Well I really like the way the CV 50s sounds and it had a really well set up trem that could be used without going crazy out of tune. I have a ton of guitars so whatever inspires me that particular day is the guitar that gets used.

  • Goosebumps.

  • Geezus christ. Damn dude you made that guitar sound like sex. What amp do you use??? And did you mod that 50's strat in anyway?

  • @Bsaefong The amps are a Epi Valve Junior and 80s Peavey Classic VTX running in stereo. The Guitar is bone stock.

  • is this guitar noisy?

  • @glthebest

Well, It's a strat, So expect the regular 60 cycle hum.

  • @pacrat90 These Squier Classic Vibe guitars have the same wiring setup as an SRV signature series ( I have had this one for 13 years)

Noiseless in the 2nd (Neck Mid) and 4th position (mid and bridge) They have a reversed wound and reverse polarity Middle pickup. So kool for quiet recording! So You have the best of both worlds... Regards

  • @pacrat90 It ain't necessarily so--These Squier Classic Vibe guitars have the same wiring setup as an SRV signature series ( I have had this one for 14 years)

Noiseless in the 2nd position (Neck Mid) and noiseless in the 4th position (mid and bridge) They have a Reverse Wound and reverse Polarity Middle pickup. So kool for quiet recording! So You have the best of both worlds... Regards

  • @TheStratplayer1 Very true, but what happens if you prefer the bell tone of the Neck or Bridge? And don't want the combination selection? Also, you're very right. it's not very bad, it's very possible to record, even at fairly high gain. But when you sit it alongside a Humbucker equipped guitar there is definitely a difference. But in my opinion, non of these little flaws can bring down the absolutely amazing tone you get from a strat, and how much flavour you can pump out of it. Strat for life!

  • @pacrat90 Yeah its really not noticeable in most situations, especially in the studio where it can be gated and edited out. However in some bars with shoddy wiring you get the hum from hell, but Its worth it to me. I recently got a 78 Les Paul with Mini buckers and it doesn't hum, but it sings!

  • @glthebest only if you turn your Marshall up full lol!

  • amazing!! dude i've been playing acoustic for a year and i'm going to buy this as my first electric... would you reccomend it ??

    greeting from italy...

  • yes, absolutely

  • Lol that guitar is sick, i played one of those at a music store in Saint John N.B. called Morris Music.

as soon as i picked up this guitar i went through the intro to voodoo chile, then thought about little wing and tried it out, and wow did it rock. These guitars are great, and play like high end fenders.

  • Which classic vibe sounds most hendrixy/bluesy i assume the 60s

  • Well this is a Hendrix song and I'm using the 50s. I think it depends more on your effects chain, your amp, and your playing style.

  • pretty cool indeed!

  • Hey, can the classic vibe cover most gnr, even mettalica stuff? =D

    Btw Goood jam.!

  • Um they have vintage voiced alnico pickups. If you want to play heavier stuff you would need single coil sized humbuckers, or something with humbuckers already in it like one of those pointy metal guitars

  • haha pointy metal guitars.

  • metal sucks newb

  • Great and great guitar i'm going to buy it soon.

  • What effects/ pedals are you using, thanks, great cover

  • Boss DS-1, and Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus, Boss DD-3 Delay, Squier Classic Vibe 50's strat running stereo into an Epi valve Junior and Peavey Classic VTX

  • {}nn{}//  \\{}nn{}

  • I know, right? lol

  • awesome

  • Total

    Kicksass

  • awesome yogi. loved how you made it your own

  • man, grow an afro and be a hendrix impersonator...

  • ha ha, that takes too long

  • i like it, what guitar you say u used for it? was it the cv 50's??

  • Yes I did. Thanks man. Sadly I had to sell both guitars. Some guy got them both for $450

  • Absolutely killer! Enjoyable! Thanks:)

  • Very sweet indeed! Love the tones you're getting there. Keep it up....

    L8R,

    Matt

  • Yogi, once again nice video. I really like your playing! What effects are you using on this vid? Are you still running through both the Peavey Classic and Epi VJ?

  • Yes I am. Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus, A little Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Boss Ds-1 distortion, and a touch of phaser from the built in unit on the classic

  • So it can handle lots of gain.Sweet, those guitars are so nice.So how you been Yogi?Still aint got one yet, hopefully will soon.

Once I get strings back on my guitars, and the

new electronics back in my Strat,I'll try to put up some vids.
