  • heard on glasgows rock radio recently iggy pop interview,, n he said this was his favourite song frm the 50s,lol,,,,, has he neva herd of somethin else, lol

  • eddie never could quite get that elvis hip swivel but you could tell he knew it too but had great fun trying it and the laughter at his own expense whenever you saw him do it just showed the kind of guy he was god bless you eddie and i feel so sorry for you americans who never knew they had a rock and roll genius but we sure knew one when we saw one long live eddie and may you rest in peace cause now there are 5 stars shining brightly above

  • My Mum was OBSESSED With Eddie cochran through-out my childhood and as a kid I honestly didnt get it - he was a bit before her time too so it all seemed very dated to me...ok I get it now Mother - what a beautiful boy he was :) x

  • @Annalyse74

There are still lots of people obsessed.with Eddie Cochran!

  • I think that's Mamie van Doren in the mix there.

  • The production values for this number look really good, compared to what I'm used to from most 1950's teen/youth movies. Are those two guys that are dancing together at one point? Love it.

  • eddie cochran and elvis presley the roy of rock !!

  • Brilliant stuff! Eddie we miss you!

  • Thank you, Eddie, for showing us the true spirit of being an American!

God bless you Eddie.....

  • Maybe, he should have gone and got him one of them Tiggers.

And he hadn`t of aught to have strained his back so.

Sorry about the spelll ing !

  • I doubt he wrote this song.

  • @Sashaeharmony

maybe yes, but he would never sing it again

  • You gonna make a cotton-picker outta me

  • @TheDiddlysquat

yes! it's the last mystery about Eddie Cochran

  • @TheDiddlysquat

Maybe he didn't need to change his name at all. There are many legends about what happened with him and what he did.

, but no one knows for sure..

What about a Facebook page to find out the truth?...

  • @rickyvale I believe the taxi driver is still alive and living in the Bristol area, a friend of mine tracked him down a few years ago to try and get his side of the story.

Apparently he had been driving Gene and Eddie around showing them some of the local sights before the fateful night. What I dont know is why he was driving so fast.

  • A great idea for the video! =)

  • 50th anniversary of Eddies tragic death, R.I.P your music lives on!

  • @rockakitty1993 Oh that's right he died in 1960. RIP Eddie you are not forgotten

  • It was the holiday party for all the cotton field supervisors.

  • heh......Eddie was awesome

  • so lost without a guitar lol, bless him

  • so lost without a guitar, lol bless him

  • some kind of funny^^

  • This is so funny. Reminds me of "cotton vacation," at our school. Did anyone else have cotton vacations? I don't know about anyone else, but I lasted maybe a couple of days out there. It was not easy.

  • reply to belovia50: I didn't live in "cotton country," but in my part of Tenn, they would let kids off for "vacation" sometimes when other crops came in. Like the "Tennessee Beauties" : best strawberries I've ever tasted!

  • Loretta, I lasted about 2 hours in the strawberry patch. It was easier on the fingers though. LOL!

  • Eddie still rocks. he died 49 years ago (!) but his soul and music are still with us. Never to be forgotten: Eddie cochran.

  • I so admire him, he made the best music I've ever heard in my life.. it's so different from other rocknroll songs but really awesome

  • Elvis was a sissy against Eddie (wish I had a time machine and could change that damn tire!!)

  • @urbanelurban what tire?

  • @DerrikRose1991

He was in a taxi in London in 1960 that blew a tire and hit a pole. He died in the accident.

  • @AlphaPegasii May I correct you sir. Eddie,Gene,Sharon sheeley and the tour promoter were being driven to London airport after a gig in Bristol. The car crashed into a lamppost in Chippenham Wiltshire.Best wishes.

  • I love this song.

  • I guess he was layed to rest here in So. Cal. I think I might drive down the road and pay my respects.

  • prob the coolest dude to ever live..R.I.P Eddie

  • the best friend of everyone, according to Bobby Cochran and his book "Three Steps to Heaven"

  • looks like the sisters couldn't buy any work clothes..

  • Eddie Cochran's character was named Bong. Hmmm.

  • hey you cotton pickers get back right to work!. Man i would twat him if i was back in the 50s

  • wow is eddie playing the 1st ever air guitar!!!!

  • he was always a Pioneer

  • yeah and he died sooo far from home in a car crash in the uk i believe. Sooooo sad

  • "On the 24th of June, 1960, George William Thomas Martin was convicted of causing the death of Edward Ray Cochran by the driving of a motor vehicle at a dangerous speed and was fined fifty pounds. He was disqualified from driving for a period of 15 years. In default of payment of the above fine it was ordered that he undergo imprisonment for a period of 6 months"

50 pounds or 6 months prison, that was the price of Eddie's life. What a shame

  • Eddie had a small acting part in this low budget movie.

  • ont n'a jamais vu beaucoup de ramasseurs de cotton blancs!!!!

  • it was 1957, not 1857

  • think its from untamed youth

  • yes a lot of playe like.

  • Did he perform the song: "Summertime Blues" from the same movie ? If so could someone please post it ? Thanks !

  • No he didn't. Summertime Blues (1958) did not exist yet at the time of this movie (1957)

  • What was the movie?

  • ok well. thanks for given me this 1947rande

I um never heard of this song!

    Lulu

  • It's great. Just what you need to get going. Eddie was the absolute best. Why did he have to die so young and right at the top of his career? Maybe one day God will tell us.

  • 48 years later, I still ask me why...

  • Whew! Thanks! I needed that!

  • Oh dear god he is GORGEOUS

  • that was cotton pickin' great

  • I feel sorry for him he was just at the top of his carear and his life got taken away.

  • that guy at the end totally ruined it
