I think the galaxies like our own are teeming with fairly complex life forms. Microbial life could be anticipated even in the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn. Gliese 581c, is just in our galactic neighborhood of 20 lys. Much more earth like planets are waiting to be discovered. Let's wait for Kepler Mission. Even pessimistically one civilization per galaxy, there are billions of galaxies, hence billions of civilizations.
Most biologists will conceed that microbial life probably will turn out to be fairly routine, but what about complex life? That may be severely uncommon in the universe for all we know now, and actually sentient life may be so rare that more than one isn't likely to exist in an average galaxy at the same time. Remember SETI was sure they would find em transmissions from somewhere within a few years; that was 20 years ago, and sofar jack. For all practicle purposes, we may well be "alone".

It's unlikely that we're alone, but it's also unlikely that so-called u.f.o.'s are anything more cosmic than terrestrial military technology.

I remember when I was six years old, before even knowing anything about space, I somehow felt and knew deep down that we were not alone........

These photos leaves me in awe.
And to think that our earth is the only
inhabited planet, is absurd.
