u know what i say about a hummer h1 "you can buy a hummer h1 for 130,000 dollars but give me 35,000 dollars and i can make a jeep that can beat it off roadin give me 130000 dollars i can make3 jeeps that can beat it off roadin with money to spare"
I have driven many vehicles. Jeeps, toyotas, landrovers, landcruisers, ford broncos, hummers. And nothing in my opinion beats a jeep. But the chevy K5 blazer Comes very close.
My granddad swore by these, he was a british tank driver and informed me that these beasts used to be able to pull the tanks along, amazing bit of kit for the time and even now...
Sweet! The father of everything. The first Land Rover was built on a Jeep frame and running gear. They just keep getting better. I've been a daily driver in a rag top Jeep for 14 years. Never gonna drive anything else.
That overcast haze above you is not normal. It's never blue anymore. We all need to wake up and wake others to stop this. Search for "chemtrails", "Dont talk about the weather", "Endgame HQ". See my vids. Good luck, everybody, it could be rough.
i got to hand it to the guys in these video's they got some serious balls... it's so easy to tip a MB over without driving it over jumps like a maniac. no idea how they are even able to stay in the things seeing that they have no seat belts and the padding on the seats is shithouse. you would be black and blue after this. not to mention the injuries if u rolled it. crazy but awesome
dont know how you can compare landrover to willy's i own a jeep and my father is a land rover nut.... but if it wasn't for the jeep the 4wd market would probably not exist. it was the first compact 4wd and started the trend. of course there are modern vehicles that are better. but it's capabilities for it's time are amazing and it can keep up with most current off roaders today.
thank you man, i concour 100% dude, i have a 51 willies, recently we put ford axels, a 350 small block and lockers in ours, there just awsome, i think i need coilovers though, she dont flex like id like her to
my stepdad has one of these in svalbard, norway. it must be the northernmost willys. runs good except a bunch of small errors like blinker dead and handbrake busted. i drove it once. hella cold but fun as hell.
@jakey130486 honestly i would rather have one of these little guys than ANY new vehicle. if im off road in the mountains and something breaks at least in this little guy ive got a hell of a good chance of getting it fixed well enough to get me home again!
@jakey130486 u r funny it LEADS THEM ALL no other 4 wheeler can beat a jeep 0|||||0 if u say hummer yea right there are vids here of jeeps pulling em out of an inch of mud.
The Landrovers are better economically; the same design since they more or less were first put into service - a load were left in Malta during WWII and people still drive around in them today.
@mrrmancunian Wrong... Landrovers weren't built during WW2 they came to be in the late 1940's approx 1949.
The first landrovers were built on jeep chassis for testing but switched to the LR chassis for the first production Series I I am a proud owner of both LR and Jeep products.
My dad bought an early 1951 Willys M38 after his 4 year service (1951 - 1955) and still has it. All original 24V system, flat 4, etc. His has the straight fenders.
Those that came AFTER in late 1952-1957 have the modern type encased round ended fenders.
I saw black and white footage on the history channel a long time ago of them driving and hitting a big jump like bump and flipping the back end over and basically killing the guy driving since there was no roll cage
I rebuild these from the ground up. Its my business. If you want one, I can do it. I will have the one I am currently working on featured on our website soon.
Yes! I have a 48 CJ2A, I love that thing! It runs good, but I'm taking it apart now to restore the body. I have a DVD, Autobiography of a Jeep, and it had these clips in it. I got it on Ebay or Amazon, can't remember. Only 15 minutes long, but worth it. Thought I'd throw that out there for the Jeep lovers out there.
Hey great video I´m from Colombia and we still use those cars for public transport I have a model 52 and hell its still running hard We can still buy new spare parts for it here
i agree, we have a 1948 willys, they are great, its simple and easy enough to maintain and its rough it keeps going forever, they should build vehicles like that again
hey! my dad also had a cj2a! his co workers used it as a yard goat around the marina. they submerged it in the water at least 3 times and it stilled worked (but they had to flush out the engine). possibly still working today, we don't have it now though, the marina sold it. lol, jeep should make another on of those, just with a eco engine, and maybe a set of thicker tires :D
Kinda ironic how the vehicle that helped defeat the nazis in now owned by a German company. Even when AMC owned jeep they kicked ass, CJ5,7,8; now they seem kind of girly and too flashy.
willys jeeps or the ford gpw are the best 4x4 ever , even just stock they can kick some ass . after chrysler took it over it all went down hill a bit there still good vehicles but there not what they used to be. i think iv put my willys cj-2a though about half of what they showed there
Me and my friends restored a 1947 willys cj-2 then lifted it to fit some 35x9.50 super swampers.. it'll go ANYWHERE!! and ANYTHING can be fixed on the trail with minimal tools...
This is from a Discovery channel documentary. I have it on a tape somewhere...I 'll post the english version eventually if its not already up. willys are wicked little machines.
And with a body width of 4ft. 10in. you can sneak through the tight spots. Oh yea move the spare, this is where the term move it or loose itcomes from

My grandma used to build jeeps during the war.
She would write a blessing on the underside of the seats. "That freedom never perish"
Every time i hear her talk about it she has this look of happiness about her.
But the happiest i have ever seen her is when we took her for a ride in one that she more than likely had a hand in building.
