  • Architects, Builders, Code Officials and Homeowners are all turning to SMART VENT automatic foundation flood vents to protect homes from the destruction that a hurricane, flood or other natural disaster can cause. SMART VENT is designed to provide both flood protection and ventilation and is the only ICC-certified vent to meet the requirements as set forth by FEMA and the NFIP for all homes or buildings located in a floodplain.

Educate yourself, be safe, and save on flood insurance.

  • the dam isnt the thing that made this happen! Hwy A was the source of the lake draining out like this

  • no it wasnt.

there was a breach in the dam and the water from lake delton drained into the wisconsin river. as a result of the breach Hwy A was destroyed.

i live in the dells. i know what ACTUALLY happened.

  • What change is Obama talking about, huh, huh? Don't vote for him. He is the most liberal member of the entire senate. His score was 95.5% in 2007. Hillary Clinton's was only 82.8%. Harry Reid's was 89.2%. If you vote for Obama, you wan't this country to get fucked up.

  • Nonsense! You are a brainwashed SIMPLETON! Any Democrat would be much better than the disastrous buffoon Bush! Obama is a very educated and articulate man, and the most 'Presidential' by far.

  • Question: Who could f*** up this country more than Bush and Cronies? Answer: A clone of Bush.

  • I just went there last year since my last time in '96. Hard to believe that lake is gone now. Bless the families affeected by the flooding.

  • im not sure about the idea of rebuild. I feel like its going to be a waste of money, cuz that water will come once again, maybe next year? I go for the build in somewhere else away from the water!

  • I live on lake dalton and live in romati mancion and my house got ruind to peices there.

  • They are going to rebuild the dam again and fill up with the water again............

  • i live in the dells and we found out later on in the town that they new there was a crack in the dam and no one did anything about it until something happened. there where a lot of memories on that lake and its gonna take a long time to get all of it back to normal. i know tommy barlettes show is out of buiness for a while and i belive the origanl ducks are to but im not to sure cuz they use the river to.

  • Tommy Barlette's and duck tour are still going. The local paper reported on it (I'm just sound of there in northern Illinois).

  • yea dude. no they RNT! they i live in chicago.

  • There goes the ski show :(

  • Uhhh...I don't think you all are getting it - the idiot that posted that it was "Bush's fault" was doing his evidently cracker impression of a liberal, and was trolling for a reaction. Sheesh. Read the posting. On the other hand, it was pretty stupid and boring, so can't blame you for not bothering.

  • its not about the rich or poor.its about fixing the problem before it happens im sure the people down river lost just as much and wish there would of been a steel sea wall to hold all that water back and a spillway the releive the riseing waters this was preventable the water will fill back in when the canal is blocked .house can be rebuilt.glad to see no one died.

  • Bush's fault? Wow, they're right, a lot of democrats are extremely ignorant...

And if you think white people are rich and want to keep their money, they earned it. Maybe those black people you are talking about don't work hard and don't think they need to to get money.

  • I cant believe the BS that is said here. These are peoples homes Rich or not, black or white who cares it was somone life Now gone. Yes some were summer homes but some not.Just look in your homes how much stuff do you have that can not be replaced THINK ABOUT IT! This is also a very important lake to the area,And now the lake is gone!!!

  • I would like to ask, how in the world is this Bush's fault? I'm not pro Bush, but what does he have to do with this? Blaming Bush for this would be like blaming him for New Orleans. Those people decide to live there. New Orleans people were screwed because most residents there didn't have flood insurance. In Lake Delton you couldn't obtain it.

Again, How is this Bush's Fault?

  • how the hells is flooding, a natural disaster bushes fault????

  • For those of you asking are floods common around here. Well in SW Wisconsin near the Kickapoo River it seems more often flooding occurs. I will say this, this flooding is affecting farms, towns etc. There is tons of roads closed in Columbia, Dodge Counties because of flooding. My mother has an 84 acre farm in Columbus. The Crawfish River runs through her property. She has two horses and now all the fiels that were for Hay are gone. I doubt she will be compensated. Sad sad day for all affected

  • Oh... And I'm white.

  • Quick comment for that guy who said white people can take care of themselfs... I have worked every day for 15 years, went to college and have done everything in my power to advance my self in life, respectfully and IF my home was washed away, IF a hurricane came through, it would DEVASTATE me and my family, so keep that in mind buddy.

  • ROFL to t4705mb6 I didn't want to laugh but it was funny, even though I don't agree with it, as I don't know them or how they came upon those nice homes, how much work they put into them, like that school teacher for instance. They are GONE now I'm sure that means something to them. Quick question for those of you hit in these areas, are floods that common around here? (any of the areas flooding bad right now.)

  • kind of, we get a lot of bad weather. It seems that attention is attracted toward "better" places....like New York or any of the east coast. What you see there is 50% exaggerated. What you see in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Indiana is usually just what it is.

But yes, this is somewhat common, just not as advertised and stuff as the east coast of Florida.

  • yeah, it's expected to happen around here.

people often see it on the news if New York or DC get 2 inches of snow, and that's a blizzard. For us, 8-10 inches is a blizzard.

So if you get what i'm saying, this isn't exaggerated, it's just a LOT of rainwater. What you see on the news for larger cities is more likely to be exaggerated.

Sorry to drift off into that, but sometimes your question can lead into that topic. But yeah, we see it once in a while, and it isn't an extremely rare occasion.

  • I live in Portage which is 20 minutes from Lake Delton. I would just like to say that one of the homes that was washed away was owned by a School Teacher, who saved his money/retirement to own a lakefront property. Now remember it's none of the homeowners fault that they didn't have flood insurance. FEMA denied them insurance. What these people lost is pretty catostrophic. Remember the lake will only take 9-10 days to fill back up. We live in Wisconsin where water is plentiful!

  • Some of those people probably worked their entire lives to get homes like those. Sad to see.

  • Eh, we have a vacation home in that area and most people up there are just rich and don't have anything else to do w/ their money. I still feel terrible for them, it's a huge loss to anybody... but things could have been much worse. Nobody lost their HOME, just houses.

  • Yeah, you're probably some rich ignorant asshole who looks down on everybody.

  • wow, those homes......shit

  • those are really exspensive homes bro. but srry if there not good enough for ya

  • what do you mean, i really am sorry for those people, not to mention the memorablilia that must've been lost, and i am not really entirly rich, and last i check, i have emotions

  • don't use the word nigger. I feel bad for any black called that. (I'm actually white, but I have feelings for people even if they aren't the same color as me!)

  • the lake is gone? incredible

  • Wow even floods turns into race?Ok heres a quick little nugget for some people.Every race has scumbags which equals all colors or if your rich or poor. The same people who are callin blacks niggers are the same white people who are on wel-fare having 20 kids.Oh and by the way..the richest people are the niggers. Its not about race its about money the more you have the scummy you are its a fact. How do you think people become rich?Without winning the lotto.By fair play.

  • You are offensive, rude, and unbelievably ignorant. I am appalled by your comment, and thankful that the majority of Americans feel sorry for you, and are above such degrading speech. They are better than me....I feel disgusted.

  • not being racist but some people think they can just criticize the rich and hard workers and not do anything but beg.

  • yeah anything looks like crap my house got flooded bad

  • ya our prayers too. i live on the fox river in wisconsin. im hoping it doesnt flood any more

  • Absolutely unbelievable footage.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of this area.
