@HomoCallidus The interior is different. The interior here is that of the Multivan. The Caravelle has only two benches and not single seats with a desk in the middle. The car dashboard of the caravelle is simpler. The Caravalle's dashboard is the same as the Transportert's.
Transit van with windows?! What on earth are you talking about. Unlike the Transit VW design the caravelle - multivan and then strip back to the van. This means it designed for passengers and has safety features for passengers (side impact protection etc ) and a high level of comfort. Don't forget the Caravelle sits along side the toureg and Phaeton in the executive range.
To confuse it with a minbus is strange, when it drives like a car - unlike the tractor like transhit..
It would be about $60K + for one of these if VW could sell them here in the USA- I hear VW does sell these in Mexico (not Canada) , so thats about as close as it gets. For $60K, you might as well settle 4 a used $25- 30K Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter van & get Sportmobile 2 convert it 2 an RV...
I have seen maybe one EuroVan on the east coast in the last six months. And please realize that if EVERY van out there has similar design features, it is because that is the design the vast, vast majority of van buyers want!!
Transit van???!!! Don't insult me. I own a VW Caravelle. It's not based on that Ford piece of shite. It's based on the VW Transporter panel van.
And a fantastic car it is. I've had my 2006 Caravelle for 2 yrs now and I love.

They need to bring this to north america.

I live on the west coast the scene for VW must be different to the east coast.

VW needs this in America instead of the re badged Chrysler mini van that we have now. I want original VW style.

VW would have close to zero sales success with such an old-school boxy van like this in the states-- remember the EuroVan??

I see a lot of Eurovans here. and trust me the sales would be more popular then a van that looks like any other one out there on the road today.
