KF was still doing pretty well in '93 despite numerous cosmetic changes over the previous two or three years.

One can only presume, then, that by this time it simply didn't fit in with what ITV wanted to do - hence the '95 revamp...

And, of course, the face of ITV had changed considerably over the previous year or so and was still changing - with the much-hated Carlton having replaced Thames, takeovers of other ITV stations looming, and general programme quality starting to slide...
