Drums are blended, live kit with triggers in Ableton = Plays a live kit for purists + OffStage drum machines for those off an electronic persuasion, same as OMD, you can hear the 16s in the breakdown don't sync with the drummer. Sounds like Vince's Ship Of Fools hook

I would agree that they're not the same at all. I think they really do need Alan Wilder back to complete that creative electronic edge they've had for years and years. Either Wilder or another accomplished electronic music artist is needed. Also, and I may be the only one to say this but they need to really minimize the utilization of live drums, and use more synths and drum machines. Some songs do sound better with live drums (e.g. In your Room), but not most DM songs.

Without Wilder DM lacks that "Je ne sait quoi"...Finesse or maybe that little extra work that is really hard to recreate at home with my keyboards.Now with pro tools anything goes...Anyway Alan is doing is stuff and it is very interesting....
