  • that wont stop a Grizzly bear

  • where do you carry it?

  • Is Kimber a good 1911 45 to purchase? I don't know alot about them and can't choose on which brand I want. But I've heard alot about Kimber firearms.

  • Beautiful gun!

  • Kimber's where its at! Just got my own 1911!

  • can u get a high capacity mags for this gun

  • @blsftw666 they have extended 15 round mags

  • I'm in love with ur gun

  • how much did you pay for it and how much is ammo ?

  • whyd u choose to go with kimber over springfield or sig?

  • @MrAzcabowabo quailty and craftsmanship... everyone will have their own opinions but kimber really pays attention to the details and it shows in their firearms.

  • Nice video dude!!

  • Noce video dude!!!

  • Cool gun I carry the ultra carry2

  • Hey man awesome video, I'm definitely going to pick one of these beauties up soon.

Also I'd really like to know where you bought that clip you stuck on the slide, I think one of those would be great for my carry Glock 27.

    Thanks!

  • nice bro, im the same way. i love my glock but i too shoot all my 1911's better because of the longer slide!

  • @youcello1 I like the trigger a lot better on the 1911's as well. not that i dislike the glock trigger its great for a dao but the 1911 trigger overall is hard to beat

  • @jab0505 Im looking at your groupings on the target and I notice that there are several rounds hitting low and to the left. Do not "saucer hold" your grip; in other words get your damn left hand SPECIFICALLY your left pointer finger off the front of the trigger guard and up alongside the rail where it belongs. Do this, and mind your trigger finger (using just the tip), and I promise your shots will be much, MUCH tighter. Your groupings simply cant look like that at 15 yards with that weapon :)

  • @emerfire like i said in the video my low left shots (and one high flyer) were when i was doing some rapid fire drills. taking your time anyone can get consistantly on the bull with a 1911 thats what makes them so great. a proper handgun grip isnt with your left pointer down the side of the rail generally its under the trigger guard. look at competitve pistol shooter todd jarretts grip.

  • do you have to worry about the blued parts on it rusting

  • awesome video, an amazing gun. my only question is, i've heard that dry firing can ruin the firing pin, is this a myth or do you not worry about it happening?

  • @havellhavelldt Thanks man. you only have to worry about dry firing rim fire pistols generally speaking. if you are worried about it they have snap caps for center fire handguns and rifles that absorb the shock of the firing pin

  • @jab0505 Very nice review, very balanced. I wouldn't be surprised if you watch Nutnfancy.

  • Comment removed

  • @daveyowful dumbass youtube trolls that would tell me how dumb i was for having it pointed at myself. which obviously you treat every gun as if it was loaded so you wouldnt point it at yourself i was just trying to stop the conversation before it started.

  • @jab0505 I understand.......

  • good vid man... if u dont mind me asking what do u carry this with holster.. and what is your figure like and what do u usually wear... myself am 5'11'' and 165lbs im trying to figure out if i should get a 4in or a 5in...

  • @shroomzie thanks for the comment when i was carrying this 1911 i carried it in a cross bread holster usually wore average fit clothes not tight but not loose either i am 511 and 185. unless you just absolutley want to carry a $1600 gun i would suggest you get the full size kimber for the collection and moderate shooting and get something you dont have to worry about beating up like a glock to carry. i currently carry the g 27

  • this gun would be the only reason for me to move in the us...canada totaly blows

  • Thanks for this video, have always loved this gun!

  • Hi, whats the diffrence between .45ACP and .45S&W.........whats the diffrence of acp and s&w, in a acp gun you cant use s&w? i have a .45 acp what ammo can i use and can not use?

  • yikes $5 clip on a $1.6k gun.....

  • WOW! FOAM PADDING!!! THUMBS UP!

  • Edit: Kimber 1911's. Stupid auto correct.

  • Nice. That is by far my favorite gun. I love Kimberly 1911's and love that color/digi camo. Nice video.

  • @rockcrawling43 Hi, whats the diffrence between .45ACP and .45S&W.........whats the diffrence of acp and s&w, in a acp gun you cant use s&w?

  • @SoccerBalbus ACP=automatic colt pistol the only ammo for .45 1911's. S&w can be a .45 magnum which is a longer bullet usually for revolvers. best ammo you can get for your .45 1911 is .45 winchesters.

  • wondering where u picked up the clip on the slide?

  • For those asking, the MSRP from Kimber's web sight for this firearm, as shown, is $1,603. You may be able to get it cheaper from a dealer, but probably not much cheaper. If you like it, be prepared to pay for it.

  • Why do you keep smacking and swallowing in this video, kind of annoying :/

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI why dont you cry about it haha. 144 likes and 2 dislikes i guess most people thought differently.

  • @jab0505 Yeah well thats because it's a cool gun, not because they enjoy hearing you smack around like a 90 year old with gummy dentures, and i'm sorry my comment made your butt hurt (obviously it did since you assumed I was "crying about it") Umad?

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI not at all i just think that it is funny that people try to say comments to get a rise out of people when no one cares what some loser has to say on youtube haha

  • @jab0505 I wasn't trying to get a rise out of you. Just pointing something out.

  • @jab0505 Apparently you cared...

  • what did u pay for this bro?

  • How much does a cadillac like that run you?

  • ive shot a 45 handgun before and i gotta tell ya thats a really fun gun to shoot at the range probally my favorite considering the size doenst have a lot of recoil

  • hey jab0505 man thats a sweet Handgun really like it. ive just gotten to this handgun world. lol. i just picked up my rock island on sunday. i got a video note its my first vid ive ever made on youtube.

  • Knowledgeable. Correction.

  • I understand that you have fired different types of guns and the Kimber 1911 is the one that you shoot better with. What about the Sig P220 45ACP? just like to get s better idea of which one is more reliable and easier to maintain. Thanks a lot great video sounds like you are knowable.

  • Nice gun great video. Whats the price tag on that.

  • Great lookin weapon

  • nice gun, how much was it and i am not sure i understand the laser grip is that aftermarket or standard on the custom 2?

  • hey uhh im bout to be 21 and how much it would be around cause im 1911 .45 fan... please reply

  • @AznbOi504fromthedome i think its around $800

  • hey uhh im bout to be 21 and how much it would be around cause im 1911 .45 fan... please repy

  • dude.... no one gives a fuck about the specs of your fucking kimber :/ just show a video of it on action...

  • @draconian66 youre rude!!

  • how is the glocks trigger a safety feature? its not thats why. people look at it as a safety feature and its not. plz explain how its a safety feature. it doesn't stop the trigger from being pressed, because it pretty much is the trigger. my sr-9 has it to, could care less about it.

  • I prefer a Smith and Wesson revolver, its not accurate, but it's a great carry-gun being light and shooting the .38. Which is good enough for me.

  • @FreemanLambda my carry gun is a glock 27. small light weight and accurate. I would suggest you find an accurate gun for a carry gun. what good is an un accurate gun? it increases your chances of missing your target and possibly hitting someone else beyond the target...

  • @jab0505 True, but I only got the Smith and Wesson because before I carried a Berreta 92, sure its a reliable gun, but its rather large making it inconvenient for carry, I guarantee I would not hit a pedestrian with that pistol. If I got a Colt M1911A1, sure it would be a more powerful round, but I would be hitting the same issues as the Beretta. But accuracy is not that important when it comes to carrying, this isn't some silly kid's game i'm not going for a "headshot" haha..

  • @FreemanLambda im not saying you should carry a full size 1911 haha like i said i carry a g27. and im not saying you should carry a g27 specifically either im just saying that you should carry a gun that is accurate atleast while at the range because your accuracy will dimenish 100 fold while shooting under stress and in the heat of the moment. thats just my two cents take it how you will. as far as caliber goes i think whatever you shoot most accurate is best as long as its 9mm or bigger.

  • @FreemanLambda and as far as shooting under stress goes watch some videos on youtube where cops are shooting whole magazines at suspects and never hit anything haha. not saying cops are bad shots just that stress makes shooting a lot harder. and no im not going for "headshots" center mass only.

  • @FreemanLambda your wrong in saying M1911A1 because the A1 only came out a while after the originals around 1925 i believe then A2 etc and also if you want to carry a 1911 get a carry version thats all

  • @Bushmaster1488 Sure correct me but does that really have any purpose at all to what I was talking about? No.

  • @FreemanLambda no one said that you should go for headshots haha. Center of mass would be what you should aim for especially under stress. with as many small lightweight accurate guns as there is out there as there why limit your self with something you admittedly are already not accurate with not to mention how much stress affects ones shooting abilities. everyone has there own opionion i guess its just seems like you would want to get the most accurate version possible to limit stray bullets

  • @jab0505 I don't make a lot of money you see, so I can't just go buying weapons left and right.

  • @jab0505 I got a Glock 27 as well in a 40 S&W caliber. I only use it though for concealed carry for two reasons only. Small and compact. Able to hold a lot of rounds in one mag without comprimising size. My Colt M1911 Special Combat Government is my Back up home defense weapon next to my bed just in case I can't reach my gun safe.

  • pretty sure there is a compact model too

  • im sorry but just curious as to why you carry it with the hammer back? is there any benefit to it or is it just your style?? just seems a bit dangerous on any other gun anyways

  • @laurajordanrandle 1911's have 3 safety which are used to keep the gun safe (thumb, grip and trigger). if the gun is cocked and locked and in a holster even if you drop the thumb safety and compress the grip safety the gun will not fire without pulling the trigger.

  • @laurajordanrandle because hte 1911 is a single action pistol, which means if the hammer isn't cocked, the trigger wont work the hammer, kinda like hte old western revolvers where they have to pull the hammer back after each shot, cept when you shoot the 1911 the slide blowsback and cocks the hammer again. if the hammer were to somehow release, there is a "half-cock" safety, which stops the hammer at teh half way point to the firing pin.

  • how much does gun cost? (i know prices varies)

  • How much does an licence for guns cost in the U.S? (all together)

  • @felixdahcat you dont need a liscense to buy a gun in the united states as long as its not full auto or have a silencer. You just have to be a law abiding citizen with no criminal record. To have a concealed handgun permit it costs around $100 but depends on what state you are from

  • @jab0505 Yeah in Texas it costs about 300+change.

  • @felixdahcat Also, don't register your guns EVER! Because if the Anti-Gun liberals win (Highly unlikely) they will know where you are! And they will come to take your guns away!!!

  • DOES AMMO COME WITH IT??

  • @DCN225 NO

  • is it chambered in 45 acp or 40 s&w

  • Nice Video, nice Gun

  • Have you had any problems shooting Hollow Points with your 1911? I really like the gun exspecially the pro because of the 4" barrel. I'm 5' 10" and prefer the smaller barrel because it's easyer to conceal. But the price...wow!!! The Taurus 1911 is nice but they will not or just mostly have trouble loading .45 hollow points. Jams every time with every brand of holloy points. I'm going to Boot camp for the Marines, when i get a chance I will definatly Buy a Kimber, It's worth the money. Right??

  • @calisse1979 A lot of 1911s have trouble feeding hollow points because the 1911 was not designed to feed them. The 1911 was designed for ball ammo. For reliable HP feeding get yourself some corbon powerball ammo. they have a polymer ball in the tip to make them feed like ball ammo.

  • @HecklerKoch45c i personally never ran into any problems with hollow points in my kimber and i shot everything from cheap to expensive and some +p rounds. the hollow points i like best as of now because of accuracy and price is hornady custom +p 230 grain xtp.

  • Great review! If I had the money, I'd definitely get a Kimber 1911. My buddy has one in stainless, and he swears by it.

  • can you get a kimber 1911 with an integrated rail mount on the dust cover for a tactical light or other accessories?

  • @navydog67 yes just not the covert. if you want the covert there are a few rail options you can get that attach to the trigger guard but it is hard to find quality ones that stay well

  • @jab0505 oh okay. thanks, bud.

  • This can really make a Canadian sad.

  • One of the best ways of self defense is being able to shoot back. That's why I hate liberal gun control laws. The only gun control we need is a smooth trigger finger, a steady hand, good sights, and clear vision.

  • How tall are you, I am 5'10 and I am really considering buying this same gun for CC and I would like to know what to expect.

  • @Espilcexsg99 im 5'11 and about 195. i cc it a lot in colder weather because its really easy to conceal under a jacket in a high ride outside the waist band holster. summer months its harder ( i dont wear baggy clothes). i use a crossbreed iwb holster that conceals it pretty well. i would suggest for ccw the pro or ultra version for more comfort and clothing options. i love the full size but it was never my intention for this to be my sole ccw pistol.

  • how much was it?

  • jab....It's been a year now since you've had that aluminum alloy frame 1911. How has the frame fit/ finish held up to the wear and tear?

  • @kimberHD45 its held up good so far the only scratches on it are where i attatch my weapon light

  • what gun do u recommend glock 28 or kimber 1911

  • Chip McCormick power mags all the way

  • awsome gun. how much was it?

  • Just curious because I am going to be buying a covert custom II but did you find the fixed sights accurate out of the box? Just wondering how good of a job Kimber does with that.

  • what exactly is the right term? magazine or clip?

  • @lisolangka Magazine

  • @philaeagles9 thank you.

  • How is the crossbreed with that full size 1911. I've been curious about that.

  • Does the stock lazer sight come zero'ed in?

  • lol.......looks like i'm aiming it at my head........it's fucking empty

  • What position do you use for CCW with that clip, and who makes the clip?

  • @veeganmd i carry at 4 o clock and use a crossbreed holster. the clip is good for smaller pistols but for a full size 1911 imo it is the wrong choice i just used it as a temporary method of carry until i got a good concealable holter. its made by clipdraw, if you do use it on a larger pistol be sure to use i tight belt to hold the pistol in place.

  • @jab0505 buy a cell pal

  • Thats a lot of MIM

  • other point of jealousy:

In Canada our guns and ammo have to be stored in separate locked SAFES.

We can go to jail for: Storing loaded clips

    Storing ammo with gun

    Storing gun in a drawer

Having the gun safe and ammo safe too close

Having the gun safe easily accessible from your bed

...seeing this guy keep his ammo in a hard-shell with the fucking gun just makes me bleed with envy.

  • I was looking at this gun for a long time, and ended up going with the pro covert II. I also carry in TX, and am glad I went with the pro. It fits in the cargo pocket of my shorts, and isn't *too* obstructive when I carry it in my waistband (except when I sit down). Overall I like both of these weapons a lot.

  • In Canada we can go to prison for 3-5 years for having a KNIFE in our pocket WITHOUT a clip... I'm so jealous... so... jealous...

  • @pr0pr0 Don't worry, I think our liberal government will take our rights to our weapons away also, so we'll all be slaves together.

  • @treysmithorama

If you actually understand the right to bear arms it makes it all the more important. The law is there so that the citizens can actually rise up against the government as a whole should they feel the need.

In Canada that's called high treason (and our only death penalty offense). We don't have access to weapons even remotely comparable to what even the RCMP have let alone the military. Well the criminals do but thats beside the point. Canadians are unequipped for revolution.

  • how did you get your concealed weapons permit?

  • @miasmablk different states have different laws but in texas you have to take a safety class as well as have an extensive background check. alot of gun ranges offer the class and have all the required paperwork needed to aquire your permit.

  • @miasmablk PA has a License To Carry Firearms good for 5 years. Open carry is legal without one in PA, unless in a car or in Philly. You get your license at your county courthouse from the sherriff. Just go in, fill in the forms.. The state says the sherriff has 45 days to issue or deny your license. Some counties issue on the spot, provided you pass the background check (usually 20 minutes or less).

  • @390galaxie I live in CA nuff said :(

  • @miasmablk Yeah... you basically gotta know SOMEBODY to get one in Kali, Maryland, or Illinois...

  • That's a sweet gun. I am deciding between the covert and the tactical!

  • That is an amazing looking 1911. You just sold Kimber a gun lol.

  • sory about that i must have double clicked the post button my bad

  • pocket clip? You put a keltec design on a kimber... damn dude, buy a holster.

  • love the gun hate the pocket clip

  • @xxbryan715xx yeah the pocket clip sucks haha i only had it on for about two weeks while i waited for my crossbreed holster to come in

  • @xxbryan715xx did you not read the comments already? i bought a pocket clip to use while i was waiting on my crossbread holster to come in. pocket clip as temp fix $12 any other concealable holster to use until i got my cross draw holster $30 + easy. so the pocket clip was the obvious choice especially cause i actually had a pf9 at the time which is what the pocket clip went on after i got my holster in

  • Beautiful gun. I envy you. But a little too custom for me. I'm the kind of shooter who likes more common guns. Makes it easier you know? Don't have to worry about custom parts breaking, or specific kinds of ammo. Iunno, just my pref. Again, magnificent gun.

  • @sk8wise12 i hear you. custom guns do make it hard to get parts but this is a factory 1911 from kimber with no mods so if anything breaks i should be able to get parts quickly because from what i hear kimber has great customer service.

  • @jab0505

Ahhh so it's just a custom design?

  • @sk8wise12 yeah that is just what kimber calls this line of 1911's

  • Does a ambi safy lever 1911 pistol fit this laser grip?...I mean can I use this grip while the right side safty lever still functional?

  • @1026367 no i believe the laser on the right side of the grip would be in the way of an ambi safety. thanks for watching

  • What a beautifully crafted weapon.

  • @fitz175 thank you i agree. theres nothing better looking then a 1911 style 45. imo

  • where do you buy it

  • The only problem with the .45 ACP is the price of the ammo.

  • 4:20 Yes, because it doesn't matter if people can see your gun, it just matters if you can shoot them. Great logic there captain

  • @PortalTutorials it does matter if people can see your gun thats obviously bad because it portrays a bad image for gun owners and it makes people feel unconfortable. i was just saying that because i can shoot it better i deal with it being harder to conceal. so on days that i am carrying i make sure i wear clothing that can conceal the handgun even when it would be more convienent or more comfortable to wear something else. Which is why i carry a sr9 c alot because it is easier to conceal.

  • @PortalTutorials lol i don't know about other states but in texas handgun has to be concealed. matter of fact its a felony if its not lol

  • @tjohn1986 thats right. the only time they dont have to be concealed is if your on your own property but i think that it should be concealed on your own property anyway if you are close to neighbors and around other people because again like i said people just walking around with guns out in the open i think sends a bad message kind of like hey look at me i have a gun.

  • Keep in mind the Ultra is only 25 ounces and much smaller than the full size

  • I think that .45 is the best handgun anyone can buy. Big bullet, reasonable recoil, and a very nice lookin' weapon too

  • @Maximum777Payne completely agree..

  • um u dont have to tell but whats your fav grain for that thing?

  • @hamickboy right now it is the 230 grain +P ammo

  • @hamickboy nice they lik go up to 270 eh ehhehhe

  • Lmfao, glock lover!

  • Thats smart to put your ammo in your box. unfortunately in my state, Ohio, we cant put our guns and ammo in the same part of the car. ammo up front, guns in back.

  • @mrflatfoot01 yeah it really makes things alot easier having everything together. can you carry them together with a ccw permit? if so i would reccoment you getting one because a gun doesnt do alot of good in any situation when the ammo is not readily accesible.

  • @jab0505 Yes you can carry an loaded gun ON YOU when you have a ccw. I am not 21 yet though. In OH you can open carry when you are 18 but not in a car, the gun has to be visible from the window, so I put it next to my phone in the middle. thanks!

  • i heard you arnt supposed to grip the gun on the trigger guard..

  • @xFistsOfRain i think someone should grip the pistol however they shoot the best and for me thats with my finger griping the trigger gaurd because it helps me control the muzle rise and allows for quicker follow up shots and over all better control of the firearm. I would just grip it however you shoot the best because accuracy and quick accurate follow up shots are the overall goal

  • @jab0505 Well, i guess if it works for you! Lol, there is many mixed opinions abouts your finger being around the trigger gaurd. but, what ever works best for you! :D

  • love the pistol, but the dry fire made me cry lol

  • @LuchadoreBob thank i love it to kimbers are great. dry fire isnt bad for your gun it actually helps you learn trigger control. dry fire is only bad on rimfire guns.

  • what is the capacity of the wilson combat mag?

  • @LordZbix 8 rounds.

  • CRAP! now after watching this i dont know if i want to get a stainless steel one, or this one! haha they are both awesome!

  • @bleujae1 haha yeah all the kimbers look awesome there are only a few i dont care for

  • Very nice 1911. I thought about getting a Kimber 1911 but ended up getting a Smith & Wesson 1911. Great review by the way.

  • @jasonsg4111 thank you. how do you like your smith & Wesson?

  • @jab0505 I really like my Smith & Wesson 1911. If I could only keep one of my handguns that would probably be the one I'd keep.

  • what do you suggest, a kimber, or a wilson tactical 1911?

  • @pfflyer15 i have yet to shoot a wilson but i have heard that they are great firearms. For me though i would buy the kimber because i wouldnt wanna spend $3,000 on a handgun and go shoot it all the time. With a kimber you will get a handgun that will last a lifetime, will never jam, with exceptional quality, and at a good price at $1,600. i cant tell the difference in the quality between the two when they are side by side they are both superb so it just depends on how much you want to spend.

  • where I buy this piece of metal that appears in section 3:18, this is a belt clip?

  • This was an informative and helpfull video - keep up the good work. I am particularly interested in the Kimber 1911s...

  • yeah me too i love them. i am hoping to get the ultra covert or one of the ultra 45's soon for concealed carry.

  • Great video! I've always been a 1911 fan and have owned one most of my adult life after I left the Marines.

I was looking at one of these but chose the S&W 1911PD for the lighter weight (~28oz) and Commander size rather than the full size.

Anyway it was a great review and I think it's agreat weapon. Thanks!

  • yah shoot the bear 7 times, he wont come to close...lol
