As to the Ethernet problem, I have a Performa 460 with an Ethernet slot, but for some reason my modern router does not even light up the ethernet port LED when I plug it in.. it used to work with a very old router so I suspect there's something fishy with old Mac's Ethernet capabilities.
It was running OS 9 during the video. Since May, it's been running OS 7.5.3, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0, all on the same hard drive. I may be removing all but 8.5 and 9 soon.

Is it running Mac OS 8.6, or Mac OS 9?
