  • Well you could always just go what the creators of Grey goose did in the first place. Charge 30 dollars more than the rest and say it's made it France...

  • @Bluenoise9 Yup!

  • If you dont drink vodka straight then you honestly should just get the cheapest cause you cant taste it much anyway depending on how much you add but majority of the time just go cheap, straight up tthough then your better off with your Russian MMMMM Russiand vodka MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • where do i get this filter?

  • @47Indigo47 PERFECT TIMING!!! I just used mine a half hour ago.

    Get it here: graykangaroo(DOT)com/liquorfilter/index_age.php

  • To all the fools that buy grey goose, in blind tasting it ranks lower than much cheaper vodkas. Cant go wrong with your standard smirnoff. If you're mixing, just buy the cheapest shit there is.

I cant see what the filter could possibly removing, distilling purifies to a level unachievable via filters, surely the only way it could change the taste is if it added something to it.

  • @eggman6 Very good summery! When I mix with juices I don't filter the stuff. What the filtering does is make the stuff smoother. So for a Kangaroo Cocktail (a combination of vodka and vermouth usually called a vodka martini) made with cheap stuff I filter 5 times. Check out the videos made at the Bar Show a few years back. I was there for the taping; the tests are genuine. People GAG when they drink the well stuff unfiltered. Then try the same stuff filtered they are amazed.

  • @eggman6

the filter will remove fusel oils and higher alcahols which have a larger molecular size and add an off taste to the vodka so dont try be a clever fuck if you dont know shit :)

  • Will it work on vodka that is below crap? like supermarkets own brand paint stripper

  • @ELhazo Wow! Is it that bad? We don't have supermarket booze sales in NY State. Now I hope we don't ever get it.

The makers of this device have tested it on the worst vodka they could find and it came out fine. It may take 5 or 6 passes through this filter but it should work. Good luck!

  • Problem here is.....The difference between "shit vodka" and Grey Goose ISN'T JUST filtering. Filter it 1000 times, it's not going to turn into a different Vodka.

  • @soocl0se Well, friend, it is just a simple bit of hyperbole designed to pique your interest. I will tell you this: I still have not bought one bottle of top-shelf expensive vodka since discovering this device. That's about 5 years now. It smoothes the well brands out so beautifully - after 4 passes, not just one - that I have no need for anything else smoother.

  • @emmfc I gotcha man. Hell if it makes a difference to you, then it's worth doing. To tell you the truth you could put a Coor's and a Bud in front of me in different glasses and i couldn't tell you what was what with any test, same goes for Vodka. Happy drinking man.

  • mythbusters proved it doesnt work

  • I appreciate your saying so, but come on, you going to believe what you see on TV? I am telling you it DOES work and I have been using it for years. I am a professional booze writer, by the way, and this works. It smoothes out crap vodka and it makes a vodka equal to the top shelf. Even my WIFE can taste the difference in a blind test for cryin' out loud. Cable TV runs top-shelf booze commercials. You really think they will bite the hand that feeds them? Try it yourself. Look at the video tests.

  • i watched mythbusters and they ran crap vodka threw a filter ten times and the expert was still able to tell the diffrence. but you know what your saying it works so im going to try it

  • Yes, an "expert" can probably tell the difference but trust me, I have never once bought a premium vodka since I got this filter. I was just as skeptical, and I never use it on cheap gin, rum or whisky. Just vodka and it makes that harsh cheap crap smooooth and does wonders. Will it be EXACTLY like Grey Goose? No. That's just to get your attention and make a good headline. But is it millions of times better than cheap vodka? Yes. I run it through 4 times for the best results.

  • turning crap into crap isn't hard... maybe you should figure out how to turn Grey Goose into good vodka first ;) then work on turning other vodka into good vodka. ;)

  • LOL! And I mean it. Very well put. But the sad news is that the doctors won't let me drink anymore... :(

    I hope that is temporary....

  • now try your theory on making any cheaper vodka better when comparing it to polish vodka. Chopin and Belvedere would totally blow it away.

  • Thanks for the comment. I have tried the comparison. So when will you try the Gray Kangaroo? Are you game?

  • This will make it better but still not top shelf.

  • Hangovers are caused by poisonous byproduct alcohols such as methanol and isopropyl alcohol. A filter won't remove them, simple distillation won't remove them either. Vacuum distillation is the most practical way to remove them. The equipment would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

  • I don't care about the taste but my head will know it is not Gray Goose when I get up at 6:00 AM to go fishing. With the Gray Goose it's like you never had a drink the night before no hang over at all.

  • Ah, yes. The dreaded morning after effect. Well, that's exactly the point here. When you filter out the nasty tasting impurities you get rid of the very things which heighten the hangover woes. Try this and kiss the morning blahs good-bye. Your head will thank you.

  • Its been proven that people cannot tell the difference with high end vodka.

In a blind taste test people even rated Smirnoff higher than Grey Goose. If you can have a drink and sit back and say wow thats gotta be grey goose! good for you! most people however cannot.

  • Thanks for the input. With this device, I can assure you that it smooths out harsh, cheap vodka. Can I tell Grey Goose from another vodka? Of course not. That title is metaphorical. Why so many people cannot accept the fact that this works is beyond me. Is some kind of pride at stake? I'm telling you, this works. Check out the taste test videos on YouTube or the Gray Kangaroo website. I was there when videos were shot. I have used this for years. You don't want to use it? Fine.

  • Also, its false economics, as a Britta filter can only be exposed to alcohol once, after which its filtration properties are compromized, so at $5 per filter, you'd be better investing your money in a higher quality Vodka in the first place !!, Remember the old saying "when something appears to be too good to be true....it is"

  • And why are you so bitter does your dad own LVHM or are you some Gray Goose stockholder or smtg! You obviously opened this video cuz you were a bit curious 2 Mr Vodka Conoisseur Wannabee! You seem like you can afford 2 or 3 bottles of Gray Goose a week good 4 ya knock yourself out! For the rest of us - the so corrupted folks - we'll try the cheap filter! Please don't cry yourself to sleep!

  • Hmmm, Well Lougaba, Grey Goose is owned by the Bacardi company - not LVMH, thats Belvedere, there are 2 'N's in connoisseur, perhaps you should be spending your money on a better education than on vodka-filters which cant possibly change the basic composition of a pre-distilled spirit. I opened the video as I was looking for a grey goose ad I'd seen in Holland, not that you would have seen it as I suspect with your poor education, that you've never been overseas or own a passport!.

  • What a crock of SH*T, The basics of any foodstuff production are this...Cheap/low-grade ingredients, produce cheap/low-grade end products, there isn't a filter in the world that can change the basic composition of an alcoholic product, the filtering, merely absorbs certain impurities, which can give the 'Burn' sensation on your tongue, THATS ALL!, this misleads the drinker into believing its an improved product as it appears smoother.

  • Perhaps you should try this device, as have I and dozens of folks I know. Go to their website to see taste tests at the Bar Show 2 years ago. They are genuine tests; I was there and saw them conducted (I am a newspaper reporter, by the way). As to "premium" vodka, do you really take the word of ad men? There is no such thing as a $40 bottle of vodka, just a $5 bottle with $35 worth of marketing. Thanks for the comments, but please try this. Maybe they'll have a tasting event near you.

  • Interesting point, Trisomy 13. They tell me that this is not the same as a Brita formulation. Check their site and ask them. They aso have a YouTube presence.

  • real premium vodka is charcoal filtered

  • As is this. It works wonders on the cheap stuff.

  • it true the more times you pureify the better the quality but id use one of those pure water filters

  • Those "pure" filters are made for water; this has a different filter blend that stands up to booze without breaking down.

  • ZOMG THE VODKA ALCHEMIST!11

  • Maybe I'll give the Kangaroo a try... I find myself drinking a lot of unfiltered crap lately.

  • Ok, but there's a lot more stuff in a true Gray Goose, Stoli or other premium european vodka than just good filtering.

  • You are absolutely correct. There is the water, which can come from many sources, and the type of grain used. These have a huge influence. Perhaps I was too glib in my title, since this wonderful device makes the cheap stuff ultra-smooth but it cannot "change" the product's basis. I just think that it works wonders and saves a bundle. They have taste tests here on YouTube, by the way.

  • That's BS, I don't believe in that...

  • Well, the website for this thing has videos of taste comparisons before and after filtering. I was there when many were filmed. And I can honestly tell everyone that my wife and I have not bought a single bottle of premium vodka since we got this almost 2 years ago. They say it works with gin, rum and whisky, but not as well. I only use vodka with this.

  • if it's that easy, then why don't the cheapo vodka companies do it?

  • They do. Then they give it a fancy name and charge $35 a bottle. The Gray Kangaroo website explains it all.
