Yeah the music in Daytona is awesome. Did you know if you put that disc in a CD player it has several tracks that weren't in the game like the karaoke versions Of the main tracks. There's nothing like getting a bunch of drunk friends and singing "Blue skies".
Yeah, like say your name was genuinely Samuel Emmanuel Xylophoneman or something, and you were already hating your parents for ruining your life. Each and every day getting shit off your classmates at school, and even the teachers for having a funny name that never grows old. Then along comes Daytona. You have a good time playing it. Maybe you get a pretty good score, and THEN it CENSORS your FUCKING NAME!! That shit could send people over the edge! XD
The arcade version of Daytona was freakin sweet as hell. About the best thing about the Saturn version was....well.....this review. That game sucked more ass than a robot programmed specifically to suck ass. Ridge Racer on PS1 looked and played SOOO much better than Daytona, it was friggin pathetic. Especially when you consider the fact that Saturn was in fact, WAY more powerful than PS1.
It's just a shame that they couldn't do more with Saturns awesome hardware. It certainly did rule in the 2D department though. Capcom and SNK fighting games were the shit on Saturn. By the way, who the hell thumbed down my comment? I'm allowed to point out that Daytona for Saturn was a crappy port. Seriously, you'd think that at least Sega would know how to properly program for their own console.
I don't think the hardware is great. It hads two cpu's but I get the impression it lacks the level of intercommunication between them to make widespread practical use of them. It also lacks features the PlayStation's 3D chip has and uses less flexible and unpopular quadrilaterals
You mean ''Riiiiiiiidge Raacuuurrrrrr'' *unimpressed silence*?
Yeah, grafics where better but I never got used to the drifting. It's too extreme. There is only one car at the time which could dfit that way (Audi Quattro) and only on ice!
Nor eally though, self irony is a sign of intelligence.
One thing I allways wanted to ask you:
You have one of the most badass intros ever, the music is awesome! But how can you, as a drummer, have a intro song with a drum machine? Isn't a drum machine usually one of the worst things in this world to a drummer?
hahahaha oh trust me, i know about the drum machine. A little inside on my intro song. I was working on an industrial project where I recorded 3 songs. I never put vocals to this one so I used it as my theme. As for drums, I do have an electric set, but its a total pain in the ass to record since all my shit is downstairs. Hopefully with my new place this year they will all be in the same room. BUT sometimes the drum machine is quick and easy. It works for repetitive shit.
Yeah, but we both know that even repetitive shit soun better with a real drummer. It's the same beat but it at least has some variation to it at some degree.
Doesn't a digital drumset vary it's sounds on how hard you hit that shit? Sorry I'm completely clueless for I shred the guitar and our drummer never had a digital set.
If you'd were to record a new intro song, would you please let the Fij play the guitar for it? He ain't the best but I think he has potential! Also just for the sake of it.
yah I have a Roland TD6 electric set i got for recording. you can have it react like an acoustic set, but for the kick and snare i have it triggered so my blast beats sound fluent.
Fij is a really good guitar player, but he has zero recording skills! OUCH hahaha
Triggerin'? You gotta bash in the drums in light speed! Nah really triggers aren't too bad if you don't overuse them.
We play thrash metal, so we have no blast beats or only for a couple of seconds so our drummer doesn't use triggers.
No recording power? Now that's a shame. Hm...maybe you could manage something. His evil twin brother could visit you, he's used to traveling a lot. You know, comin' from Saudi all the way to canada all the time he could stop by in Cally.
HAHA dude that intro was awesome. Did you just put a green sheet over the windshield and key it up? Man, I wish I would have thought of that! Way awesome video man!
Absolutely amazing hilarious perfect oh my god!!!!!

It was clocked slower than the PlayStation though. And is harder to program for.
Without a doubt the PlayStation's hardware is better suited for the games of that era.
