Great job by Bobby but the Beach Boys without Carl just wasn't/isn't the Beach Boys. I saw Carl play live several times and I don't recall Billy being with him. Perhaps he did some of the gigs, but when I saw Carl live it was in support of his first solo album. I ran into him in either Chicago or Kansas City - I don't remember now - but that was when he informed me he had left the band - and why. I was very supportive of his decision at the time but was so glad to see him eventually rejoin them.
