  • I have to say that they play this too fast. The melody doesn't swing at this speed. It just seems like a "play it as fast as you can" moment and not a musical decision.

  • @Sunderlanding Too fast. Even Joe Pass looked stressed -- you didn't see that very often! Amazing skill, but not great music. Clark Terry is remarkably clear at that speed though, that's impressive.

  • I think I just shit my pants.

  • the combination of joe neils and oscar is just insane

  • this is rediculous!

  • just WOW!!!

  • Saw all of these guys, but never on the same stage... thanks. Never again will humans see this level of genius on one stage.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im not constipated anymore.

  • NHOP is the biggest beast ever.... just wow...

  • steve martin 1:33

  • One survivor of this session: Clark Terry!

  • Le tempo préféré d'Oscar.....

  • That's CLARK Terry....

  • ... Alla fine una risata liberatoria e di soddisfazione è d'obbligo! Per lo meno a me è scappata....

  • hu is the drummer? any idea?

  • That was fun. It was nice of you to put up links to the individual solos. I don 't think I have seen that before and it makes me want to look into some of your other uploads.I didn't see a listing for the tenor player anywhere though it might have been there somewhere.. Who was that masked man ?Hey , thanks for taking the time to share . I wish I could laugh with you in person but this is also a nice way to realize other people enjoy independent lines and classic jazz jammin'.

  • @stenovitz

    THANK U!!!!u r very kind!

    amazing bassist indeed!

  • who is the bassist?any name?

  • @KikiikiKb Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen is the name. In daily speech just pronounched "NHØP". Sadly, he passed away too early some years ago. Not only a technical wizard on his instrument, he was a great composer as well, and doing lots of lovely interpretations of Danish children songs as well as Nordic evergreens, becoming a rare cultural Nordic heritage. I was lucky to attend more of his concerts, one which did the most impression of me, was at "Huset" in Aarhus, exactly 20 years ago.

  • NOHP rulezz!!!! r.i.p.

  • I do not have time to listen, as they have time to play? It's incredible!

  • Bunch of idiots! This is no music anymore but a rat race! Without any feeling, except the feeling to reach the end of the tune as fast as possible... hahaha, oh no, cry cry cry...

  • @hoipiepeloiification According to you .....You have summed it up...But you might change your mind ....When you... GROW A BRAIN !!

  • @hoipiepeloiification You don't like to practice do you?

  • clark terry

  • Donna Lee at 326bpm! Then gently speeds up to 332bpm. This video showcases the very definition of 'smokin'. Oh, and with superb camera angles.

  • My GOD!!

  • It's Clark Terry not Terry Clark!!

  • what is this 320 BPM ? this tempo makes for very short sets .

  • Amazing.Shame Joe got on the wrong side of it.But I know how THAT feels!

Здесь о музыке народ перестукивается, не о тёлках.

  • Wonderful

  • incredible how NHOP basses the melody as easy as any of them....and is looking totally relaxt (at 2:20). Oscar Peterson loves this tempo too! :-)

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Personnel (not verified): Clark Terry: flugelhorn, trumpet; Oscar Peterson: piano; Ronnie Scott: tenor saxophone; Niels Pedersen: bass; Joe Pass: guitar; Bobby Durham: drums; Milt Jackson: vibraphone.

  • Ronnie Scott is the tenorplayer here. He was an english tenorplayer and clubowner and sadly, he died in 1996.

  • @bantenzSkid Milt Jackson :)

  • @bestak0s Also known as... Milt 'Bags' Jackson ;)

  • Joe Pass is a God

  • @Emapsych yes, we no that, can u say some new thing?:D:D:D

  • @Emapsych Yes...but this God is on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4. Oh...so is Oscar. Are they getting back? Yes, at 3:35. Just in time for Bags to come in on the one. Sorry, I`m a drummer....

  • @Emapsych As is Clark Terry, Oscar Peterson and Niels Henning Oersted Pedersen, Ronnie Scott, Milt Jackson and Bobby Durham. :) Having listened to Joe Pass, Oscar and Niels - just the three of them, I can tell you I always got chills, listening to that trio. The additional players for this date just made it that much more sublime. Jazz doesn't get much better than that!

  • That sax player likes shagging like boys

  • pure bebop

  • Who's R. SCott? That name isn't in the credits at the end.

  • Was this really recorded in 77? The quality is very good for an old recording.

  • @liamvg Also do you know the full names? I can't find anything on these guys besides Peterson, NHOP and Pass.

  • @liamvg they are at the end of the video. Unless you want all their middle names.

  • Thank you for posting this gem! Unbelieveable virtuosity.

  • 1:25 sax solo, 2:12 guitar solo, 2:55 piano solo, 3:40 vibe solo, 4:37 bass solo

  • @fusionjazzband Hey man The trumpet player is NOT Terry Clark...but Clark Terry !!!DOH!!

    Great vid though!!

  • @fusionjazzband

How can I even try to return to work after listening to that! Almost too much to possibly digest... getting together that many musicians who can put together as many notes as Oscar...
