  • why had the demolished some of the stadium before the implosion?

  • Someone had their frick'n arm right in the way. Dumbshit.

  • I miss Riverfront. Not the best stadium by far, but the memories from going there as a kid will always be awesome.

  • @BlankVanHelsing

    I will too.

  • Cinergy field was AWFUL the place so freaken ancient and falling apart. Great, memories. I understand but honestly. The new park is so much better. Cincinnati is always the baseball team to bring the sport into the future. For example we were the first to play a night game under lights. We're always progressive.

  • my dad grew up in cincinnati and he loved to watch reds baseball and so do i now. he would go to games all the time in that stadium.

  • I loved the "Big Red Machin" and the River Front Stadium too. Great memories. Thanks for viewing and your story.

    Sammy

  • they were cheering because it was a major event;

    huge headline

    it was awesome=]

i understand that there were many memories there;cuz i have been there quite a few times

but there is a hall of reds fame underground and its a beautiful stadium

  • why in the hell were they so happy cinergy field was amazing

  • I agree, why the fuck were they cheering? This was a piece of Reds history. It'll never be forgotten. And they were CHEERING. They were HAPPY. They're fucking stupid.

  • no it wasnt great american is way better

  • Good bye riverfront.

  • I wish we could get both of them back, River Front and "The Big Red Machin"

  • AMEN

  • What the hell were they cheering for? There will NEVER be memories made at the new ballpark that were made there. EVER!!!

  • I miss Riverfront. GABP just doesn't do it for me. Too small and not enough imagination to make the place unique. The Reds have too much history to settle for a lame stadium like GABP. Get rid of the yellow pages on the OF walls and paint something cool on the walls.

  • Also, the baseball races on the scoreboard was WAY better at Riverfront.

  • "I mostly got that dude's arm..." LOL.

  • I think that guy was on his 10th Bud Light. Have a great one!

  • Seeing that still breaks my heart. That ballpark is had my childhood in it. And I never stopped calling it Riverfront Stadium.

  • I know what you mean, I sure miss the great times that so many families including mine enjoyed at Riverfront Stadium. Keep your memories alive!

  • haha, its kentucky 9/11

  • i bought a 1970 ticket stub for openin day at river front stadium for 3 bucks lol then they blew it up i bet that guys goin crazy

  • Thanks for posting on this video. I wish I had kept all of the ticket stubs I had over the years just to talk about and take trips down memory lane. Enjoy life and God Bless you and your family.

  • ahh, cinergy, great stadium, YNWA

  • Yes it was!

  • Wish the Reds played as good as they did when they played at this stadium!! New, cool stadium, lousy team ever since. Long live the Big Red Machine of the 1970s and 80s!

  • Hello rkhobo,

Thanks for your comment and I second your statement 100% I think back in the "Big Red Machine" era a lot. We all have such great memories that can be told. God Bless and keep the memories alive.

  • My next door neighbor was involved in the implosion. He actually owns 4 blue seats from the stadium.

  • Your neighbor was involved with baseball history! He is very lucky to have even one seat from our River Front Stadium. Have a great life.

  • Man that's Riverfront Stadium!!!

  • Hi raqqajones,

  • Hi whodey1946,

Thanks for your comment. You are at a great age and have a super fun memory of the game you where at. This is just one story that you can tell you kids about in the future. Have a great life and always be a leader not a follower. God bless!

  • I'm not too old only 14, but saw my first ever game then when i was 6 in 1999 I remember it was in late september and mark mcgwire hit his 60th homerun of the year and we won the game in like 12th inning on a Pokey Reese homerun, I had had been there to many games after that one and had some good memories there

  • I was at that game! my favorite game ever! Mark Mcgwire hit a bloop double right over 1st base in the top of the inning to take the lead but we came back! Morris had a sac fly, Larkin got drilled(Intentionally!) and Reese hit the 3 run shot! But Marty's call was the best!

  • Hello WoodyHayes1951,

Thanks for sharing your memory with us. I got baseball goose bumps just reading your comment! Well done.

    sam0254

  • I will look forward to your project, thanks!

    Sam

  • For those who miss this stadium, I'm building a working model of Riverfront Stadium. Look for it in the next few years at the Reds Hall of Fame. You will not be disappointed.

  • Still makes me sad.

  • Thanks for viewing and your comment. I get sad feeling everytime I watch the video or even think about it. I like so many thousands of others have so many wonderful memories. God Bless and enjoy life.

    Sam R.

  • So many memories. My favorite is sitting up in the red seats (cheap) behind home plate in '89 as a 13 year old and watching Eric Davis hit for the cycle against the Padres. I still say he was out a 3rd on his triple to complete the cycle but I'll buy the ump who called him safe a beer.

  • I've been to many games there, driving up from Lexinton and watching the big Red Machine and others. Loved the blue seats, green seats. Many memories came up as that came down.

  • I took my oldest son to see his first Pro Baseball game in 1974 he was 5 years young at the time who now lives in Winchester, Ky. So many people have fantastic memories of the "Big Red Machin" and River Front Stadium. Thank you.

  • very good documentation of the event

  • Thank you.
