I just made a long branch version of that same basic thing with the wood from a bush we just cut down. What I did is I took a shelf brace and used it for wrist support. Now I can get super accurate sideways shots with that thing. Now I only desire a stronger band than my wrist rocket band. I also now want to make a crossbow-like design to give it that extra accuracy and power. I also plan to use paintballs as projectiles and friends with other slingshots to shoot at... : )

@hellomate639 I use to play slingshot paintball, it is a lot of fun. The rate of fire is much lower than what a paintball gun delivers, and there is no co2, so it is very affordable. Getting accurate with a slingshot is also far more rewarding than a paintball gun, and slingshot paintball is good practice, different ranges and at moving targets. I loved it as much as regular paintball, try it and I hope you enjoy it like I did.

Sounds good. I definitely am planning on it. Where'd you get that particular band? Mine could use max velocity with a long draw, with decent strength resistance. The way its set up allows for a gigantic pull.

Yours looks nice. You should try my design. It is a hell of a lot of fun to use a slingshot with a long handle and support it on your shoulder or the ground.

@HippelU76 No they aren't... Ever try shooting 60 pound recurve bows hundreds of times in succession? Seriously, don't stop using them because they felt heavy at first, build the correct muscles with repeated use.

Comrade I has experience with slingshots. And necessary muscles has I also. I spoke however of efficiency. The relationship to draw and impact force. One must much force would wind up and gets bad result. RR2 pulls together too slowly, not efficiently.

Look the video "Slingshot speedtest" on chanel from GekoGR, then you know which I mean.

@HippelU76 Watch my slingshot target practice video, I am not being slowed down by the rr2 bands.

I am sure draw/impact force is similar to bows, once you get so high in the draw more and more energy is being dispersed in other ways other than the projectile, but like a bow if the draw doesn't slow you down and you feel comfortable with it every difference in velocity of the projectile is worth it.

Dear Ethan, sorry for my bad english. I did not mean they become slow. The RR2 rubber band is slow. There are better, faster rubbers then RR2. They invest much strength around bad impact to receive. That is not efficient. The think-white heavily pulls = much power with the impact is wrong. For Slingshot it is not valid.

@HippelU76 Ok ok, you mean literally the snap of the rubber band is slow. Well, I don't have much experience in a variety of bands, there probably are better ones. I will give other bands a try. I shoot heavy 50 caliber lead balls though, so I need a heavy pull band which is able to handle it. I have noticed though, it seems to shoot heavy lead balls no faster than much smaller steel ones. Is that what you are talking about?

I think you have understood which I for saying would like. Try latex flat bands from Hygienic. Cut yourselves conical flatbands from Theraband, test it. They will be surprised how much more pleasantly it to shoot leave themselves.

hi i have those same bands an by the pouch the thing holdint the pouch and the band together when i pull it it comes apart what should i do

The holes in the leather are tearing? Is that what you mean? In that case it is possible to change the pouch, but the bands won't last forever anyway so you are better off to buy new bands, just search trumark rr2 bands on google you will find them.

@yankees3444 I see, I have never seen that happen before. I would dab a little super glue on the plastic before sliding the band back over and let it sit for a few hours, I would think that would work. If not, new bands won't cost too much thankfully.

@yankees3444 Not if the glue is still wet, in fact that should act as lubrication. The way you are suppose to slip them on is to use alcohol or water, glue should act the same.

a slingshot is a device that speaks for itself .. basically its a long piece of leather with one end attached to your wrist, you place a projectile halfway down, and take hold of the other end of the leather, swing it around and let go towards the direction you want it to go. in australia slingshots are illegal but not shanghai's as the guy's making above. laws and the names of these might be diff in the US but yeah heaps of people make the mistake of thinking theyre the same thing.
